All of the textures I have been making have a "flat" finish to them. They lack the shine that you would expect on a car. What can I do to make the textures appear shiny? I use paint.net primarily and prefer to continue using it as I cannot figure out gimp, but I am open to using something else if it will work better.

Braveheart's Policing Script - Shoplifting?
neuronightmare replied to BroJam's topic in GTA IV & LCPDFR Support
On the Policing Script download page in the Author's Description, there's a section titled Known Issues that says "-The Shoplifting incident has not yet been implemented." So, no, it does not work as of yet. -
What plugins are there for Paint.net that help with skins?
-
I am having some trouble editing the following photo in Paint.net because my skills aren't all that developed. My goal is to get the flag out of the photo to make a skin with. The problem is that there's gaps in the flag where the door handle is and where the doors meet in the middle. I am trying to fill those spots in, but the picture has some glare and shading issues as it was taken outside, so when I try to fill the door crack, the colors don't match and it's very obvious what I did. The other issue is that when I paint over an area, that section is kind of flat whereas the rest of the photo has a shine to it because it was taken outside. Basically anything I add is really obnoxiously obvious. I only know the real basic commands in Paint.net so I don't know how to blend the colors or to easily select the areas I want to or even how to cover the gap where the door handle is. I was wondering if anyone out there could take a crack at this or at least give me some hints as how to work on this. I am almost feel like the entire thing will need to be painted over to get a uniform color. If that's the case, how can I easily select the certain areas to work on?

I know of two ways. One way is to select the item or piece you want to flip and then press the "move selected pixels" tool. When the resizing boxes show up, you can just click and drag one side all the way across the other side. Then you will have to just eyeball the size of the reflection. The other way is to download this paint.net plugin: '&do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Once you download it, just follow these instructions to install the plugin: '&do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

Is there a way to view a skin on a vehicle without having to import it in SparkIV and then launch the game?
-
I just started using Fraps 3.5.99 to take some screenshots playing the game. Upon looking at the photos, I noticed that none of the ELS lights showed up in the photos. They were definitely on for the several pictures I took. Anyone know what I am doing wrong or a different program that might work correctly?

I am looking for either skins or a template for the original police patrol and police cruisers. Currently, I am looking for LAPD, Chicago, or NJ State Police skins, but any others would work just to mix things up. Because my computer is only so-so, I only mod the Noose and FBI slots, but it sucks when those two are LAPD and every other car is NYPD. I have been trying to search Google and on here for this, but I don't exactly know what search term to use. "GTA IV Police Patrol Skin" doesn't yield the desired result.

Could you help me out with the Bennington Police Department in Vermont? The one I want the most is for the Tahoe, but it would be awesome if you could adapt the skin for an Impala, 2012 or newer Charger, and the new Taurus so I can have a whole fleet that matches. I have a friend who works for these guys who will go crazy to see these cars in the game. This is of a slightly older one and I would prefer to have the gray stripe down the side seen in the first picture. The center of this is the patch on the back of the Tahoe. This is what police license plates in VT look like. If you are able to do more than the Tahoe skin, the blue stripe with POLICE seen on the back of the car is on the trunk between the tail lights of the Impala sedans and please feel free to take some liberty trying to get the features to fit each car. Thank you so much!

Does anyone know of any good tutorials on how to actually make new cars or how to take a vehicle mod and change things like the rambar or the lightbar? I see tons of tutorials on skins and lightbar colors but not on how to actually make the model.

This might not be something that would be part of LCPDFR, but it would be awesome if there was a way to actually block off traffic or even an entire street because while vehicles in traffic stops move a lot better than before, traffic can still get way backed up for accidents. Or at least have it so the vehicles don't just ram into my crusier, me, crashed vehicles, or pedestrians. I would even be happy if they just sat still or waited until opposite lane traffic was clear before moving AROUND and not through me. I guess any way to control traffic would be nice. Like I said, this may not be an LCPDFR thing, but it would be nice if someone came up with something. I also like the idea people have mentioned of responding to fights or domestic disturbances where not everything involves whipping out the gun and shooting people. Anyways, I love LCPDFR and I am sure I will be happy with whatever is in future versions. Thanks.

I finally just removed all mods and scripts and reinstalled them all and everything appears to be working just fine now. That was just the weirdest shit ever. Thanks for the help.
-
That also does nothing. Its like the command simply does not exist. Just a thought I had: is there any way I can change the keys cuz maybe another mod is interfering?
-
So then I wonder what the issue is? Literally nothing happens.
-
I try it facing the suspect, behind the suspect, next to the suspect, but still nothing happens. What is the whole procedure for it? Do I lock on to the target? Do I not lock on to the target? Can I use a weapon?
-
No matter what I do, I cannot make arrests. I have tried using every key with and without pressing ALT and nothing happens! I can frisk people just fine, but I cannot make arrests. What is happening?!

Suspect Exit Vehicle Traffic Stop Trouble
neuronightmare replied to neuronightmare's topic in GTA IV & LCPDFR Support
Thanks Francis, I stopped using the gun and things worked out fine, but I still find the controls to be very tempermental. My biggest issue now deals with responding to dispatched calls. Like if I am doing a traffic stop and am in the process of searching or arresting someone and a call comes through from dispatch, the command to respond to the call flashes in front of the commands for the arrest and then it messes up the order of the traffic stop. Idk if that is a problem specific to me or if that's just how it goes. -
Suspect Exit Vehicle Traffic Stop Trouble
neuronightmare replied to neuronightmare's topic in GTA IV & LCPDFR Support
Yes, I am using 090F h1. -
Hello all, I looked through the first couple of pages under support and couldn't find an answer for this: Everything worked fine at first, but now when I am doing a traffic stop and I asked the person to step out of the vehicle, they get out and walk in front of the car and just stand there and do nothing. I no longer have control over them and the traffic stop ends. What's going on there? Also, if I walk up to a civilian and do the ArrestPed command, I can get them to the ground, but then I have no control over them and they just lay facedown. I never tried this before I started having the above issue so I don't know if that's how that command works, but it seems like more should happen. Here is the troubleshooter log. I cannot see anything wrong, but then again, I don't really know what I am looking for.
