I kinow with GTA SA you have to download a downgrader patch and replace the Mainscm Script depending on the version. I was needing to know if I need to do any thing like that with GTA IV. Do I need to edit anything in the directory before I can start installing mods?

Hello All, I'm new to GTA IV. I have been playing and modding GTA SA for a while but have no knowledge about GTA IV. I've seen multiple forums online about modding GTA IV but there all different. I was hoping someone could guide me through how to mod GTA IV. I know SA has a little process to be able to start installing mods,l but as I said, I'm not sure what GTA IV's process is.
