I wouldn't go with that "If you decide you want a more expensive motherboard for whatever reason later, then get a new one then" How quickly the technology is updating you'll found the day u want to upgrade the mainboard the CPU LGA socket will be out of date. Then you gotta buy another CPU for it. The socket LGA1366 only lasted just on 4 years (Late 2008-early 2012). Now if I want to upgarde my mainboard(motherboard) i gotta buy another cpu which cost more $$$$. Remember the LGA 2011 socket came out in 2011. Its 2014 now by the sounds of Intel there new ones on the way late this year so new socket will be in its place. But the LGA1150 came out 2013 so should be around for a while so might be ok to upgrade down the track. Just found its a hassle to do, the whole computer gotta be apart basicly to replace mainboard. Mainboard and CPU #1 priority to do. The GPU,SSD/HDD,RAM can be replaced any time really. Why?: GFX: Don't need to worry about PCI-E gonna be around for a while. RAM: DDR3 been around for ages now and don't think thats gonna change any time soon. HDD/SSD: Depends on you. But going SSD for the OS well make a big difference to load speeds. Intel Core i7 4770 Haswell 3.4GHz 8MB - Yes that is a good choice to make MascottePaper (Would recommend to OC'ing get more out of it, but thats your choice) If i was gonna buy mainboard(LGA1150) for a fair price and awesome performace ill go: (ASrock is just shit brand, we had so many get send back cause they just dont work out of the box and terrible for OC'ing cause of the BOIS) 1st Choice:Asus Sabertooth Z87 $329 AUD ($288 US) - Sabertooth are well know for good gaming and the most reliable board's. User freindly for OCing as well. 2nd: MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming $269 AUD ($235 US) - MSI not as good as sabertooth but still a good gaming board will do the job for a long time. 3rd: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H $209 AUD ($183 US) - Gigabyte did have a bad run for a while with mainboards but they have improved alot now and these boards are better manufactured now. I7 4770 LGA1150 That would last 4-5 years easy standing on its head with game's these days been ported over from console's. Most game's hardly stress my CPU found only GTA IV does (just cause it was such badly ported to PC from console) and Crysis 2007. Most other games barly reach 25% utilization of my CPU (most of them r not mutli-core support that well). Only reason to update CPU these days is for Video Editing. But for gta iv and dayz standanlone this would just run awesomely without OC'ing. All parts and price's information r from ww.ple.com where i work part time. And my PSU and all that stuff." Nice to see your care about the mainboard and calculating what watts you'll need. If u tell all your parts u r getting i can recommend a PSU for you bud. But what u said so far, even with GTX770 if you get another one (SLI) down the track that 950WATT PSU u said well do the trick. But i would just like to know what brand is it? The space in the case doesn't matter as long as you pick "Full Tower case" not Micro ATX,Mid Tower or Mini ITX. Check at ple site caes/full tower to check with one u want.

Oh u said "Like in the ELS V6" thinking u had ELS V7 misunderstanding there Well R_ALT+J goes straight to PRML lights without express mode but all the lights come on as you know (express mode i found easier but everyone to their own). You don't want SECL light's on when in stage3 (PRML lights on) right? The only one way to do that.There is no button for it you gotta set it up in config file. As i said before change the "DisableAtLstg3 = off" to "on" in the "default_config.ini" file. So when press R_ALT+J the PRML lights come on without SECL lights. It's not that hard to do man

Whats the memory timming's C8,C9,C10 and yes its does matter if u know anything about computers. Tom H. is righ! If your PSU under the watt rating it can handle. They just go POP!. When PSU blows up sending a change of power throw to your mainboard and everthing connect to it burns out so bye bye system (I seen it so many time's now its not funny).... What if u want to upgarde to SLI? That puts on about 30-250watt depending on your card. So really gotta much sure u got the right PSU for your system What's the brand of the SSD and the specs say on it? If it's 25nm multi-level cell (MLC) then thats the good one (Well build,will last forever,quicker read and wrtie speeds). If its Triple-level cell (TLC) (cheaply build, they will fail alot faster, shit read and write speeds) In my eyes even with a GTX 760 GTA IV u probly avg 50 lucky.(unless u OC your CPU u would get little more). I got I7 930 clocked 4.2GHZ and GTX670 SLI's (which they not that far behide gtx 770 SLI probly 10-20fps) my ave at 80fps with FRAPS high settings on (this is not the GT IV benchmark test either otherwise i get 120). Do lots of research before jumping into buying part's I made that mistake a long time ago... I work for a computer store as a tech, part time job cheap parts for me XD Just helping you out bud seen alot ppl buy part's thinking that its the bees knees and it totally cheap shit. Ghilbert is right too. GTX 800 series coming out Q1 2014 they say so the price 700 series is gonna drop. P.s Water Cooling is overrated unless u run throw a fridge compresser then it's worth it. Water temperature will be whateva your room is at. So say its 22c plus about 5 or 6c more cause the heat off the CPU running so let's say 28c. When u CPU hits around 50% usage it will cause it do go a one degree ever 1-2mins. Then it will stop around 61c then say u dont using that CPU usage it takes about 10mins for each degree to go down alot slower then air cooled reason i know this been there and done that. Air cooled yes little hotter my seats at 64c at 50% usage but cools off alot quicker, 3mins and its back to its normal temp. Noctua are the best air coolers to go for. P.s On board Sound is terrible u might want to look into a sound card as well..

Indeed!!! Agree with that Mr Quiggles XD But as you say "already getting bottlenecks, lacking new technology" thats more on the lines "your graphics card is out of date". I found thats more harsh to use. But when look it up obsolete it does mean the same thing: "1.no longer produced or used; out of date" But I think in the computer age world "out of date" - "obsolete" mean two totally different definition, especially when you work in the industry like me. I hear and use the words alot. My meaning of them: "Obsolete" = No longer produced (So more powerful and faster technology coming out) "Out of date" = No longer used (The system struggles to meet its system requirements) So i can see where your coming from, that the hardware can't meet it's requirements anymore so it's obsolete. But I found obsolete isn't a harsh word to use in the computer age. It's a word to use to embrace for the future of technology.

Dude for a good gaming laptop u will need to spead alot more then $800. Lets just say more on the lines of $1500 might get good frame rate in GTA IV. GTA IV is healy CPU usage game. If you OC the CPU to 4.2ghz you'll get probly another 15-30 FPS extra. Just need after market cooler to do that. To get kinda same results with a Laptop you will need something like this: Asus V551LB-CJ094P 15.6" Touch i7 Windows 8 Pro Notebook $1,479 (more then likely desktop still more powerful in it own way) Downside to laptops there all come out with slow as Harddrives 5400RPM which be waiting forever for gta iv to load or the OS for that fact. A game like this will make the laptop get hot really quick unless in a/c room you will found it will crash alot with errors. Anything under this you will have poor frame rate and gta iv will not be fun playing it under 60 FPS. Just a thought.....

Dude the GTX 600 series is obsolete. LOL in the computer age these days 6-12 months in most computer parts is obsolete. Nvidia stop producing them around Q3-4 last year. It's just the left over stock selling now. Driver support will still be there. It's only 700 series for now. 800 series coming out Q1 2014. Know this cause mate works in computer store and I hanging for the 800 seires too. Got my self GTX 670 SLI and theres no point upgrading to GTX 770 for what extra performance u get. So if u can wait for the 800 series to come out price in 700 series will drop by alot.

FIXED!!!!! After alot of the issue still don't know how, but must been a key binding problem. LCPDFR sets off the ELS manual siren tone just glich's out when GTA IV fired up. As i said before I didn't touch no settings at all when it happend. Key bindings r all default too just plan werid. It happened with 0.95V too wish i knew that then. Just had to Press T+Y and the siren was off omg... But it turns back on every 3rd or 4th i fire GTA IV LCPDFR. Change the key bindings for ELS now no issue at all. Thanks darkoffice for ur help, hope you fixed yours. Pretty sure that Code C0000005 comes up 90% of gta iv crashes.

Alright dude you want express mode on if u know what that is. "Ctrl + Backspace" = Toggle Express mode. Thus one button for the lights and siren. It does say for online but works same for SP. Now to have only WRNL and PRML light on and no SECL lights in express mode u gotta change the "default_config.ini" in the ELS folder. Unless you want it for that one vehicle model only then copy that file rename to vehicle model you want it on e.g "police.ini" and it will only effect that model. Also u gotta change the file name in "ELS.ini" to make that work. But just for now open up "default_config.ini" and found these lines: [ SECL ] Type = leds DisableAtLstg3 = off ForcePatForLstg = off PatId_Lstg1 = 0 PatId_Lstg2 = 2 PatId_Lstg3 = 3 Change "DisableAtLstg3 = off" change to "DisableAtLstg3 = on" save file all done. When in game toggle express mode (CRTL+Backspace), when u press "G" (default horn GTA IV) only WRNL and PRML lights will come on. Only way to have one button PRML lights on with ELS V7 Hope this helps you if have any issue's let me know. But i know this works cause i use it

Yeah it does work with only just LCPDFR. Just not the same ELSv7,APRv2.0 and that awesome car pack LCPD-V1.1L-AC. I deleted everything to do with GTA IV then restalled it. Fully updated it and made 4 copys of it. Gonna go out on town with this LCPDFR try and found the crash that starts this siren bug only with the mods I just said.

Just looked throw your topic seems to be different problem to my. I had the problem in 0.95rc2 as well, looked on the forums no one had this problem thought ill wait for lastest verison (GTA V was out). Probly that trainer your running cause some of them it messes with scripthook.dll and get errors and crash's like mad. Something I read while back on the forums. Just try without the trainer's man I don't use them for LCPDFR. Only thing that crashes my game is selecting the cop cars with the sirens going off. I can play fine if I pick the first cop still everything else works just the sirens never stop so gets annoying real quick.

Rusty can you tell what u did to fix it?? Could u post your ELS.ini and LCPDFR.ini see what's different. I got exactly the same problem with my I think.It worked fine for few days then just happened without any change to mods,cars e.t.c. When I go to select a cop car from coming back out the police station sirens are going off but no lights flashing. But can still use ELS like J,J,J then H and can hear another set of sirens going off. If I select the next car, can hear another set and so on. Siren's just keep multiplying till it crashes GTA IV. But my doesn't crash by pressing G but holding it the siren's change to that second tone. Then I thought just could be the spawn car from the police station so jump out of that jump into another one same issue sirens going off no lights and they still on forever. Even in or out of the car same deal take ELS v7 off and no problem works fine with ELS modded car's. I have gone throw ELS.ini and LCPDFR.ini I couldn't see where Keys are conflicting with H,J,K,L. Changed the default horn "G" to one of mouse button's but still does it. These are the mods and car packs I was running. Yes got rid of mods besides the car packs and police station. Only running LCPD:FR v1.0a and ELS v7 then tryed everything I thought that was doing it e.g Key confilct I thought as well.
