Community Spotlight: Albo1125

In the first part of our new series aiming to shed some light on the many talented content creators here at lcpdfr.com, We sat down with arguably one of the most upcoming and respected people in the GTA community, Albo1125.

Being just shy of a combined total of 250,000 downloads and giving the community what is seen as LSPDFR+ modes with his fantastic script mods, Albo1125 is a rising contender in the GTA Modding Community.

So, without further ado - let's meet the man behind the radio!

Q: First of all, tell us a bit about yourself. Who is Albo?

I currently live in the Netherlands and I’m 18 years old. I’m in my final year of secondary school (or high school, as Americans would say) which is the year where all of my exams take place. When I finish, I hope to be attending a university in the UK – I’m currently going through the application process and I’ve had to go through several tough interviews.

Education aside, it’s probably apparent to you all that I enjoy coding in my free time. Apart from that, I enjoy playing the actual video games themselves, mostly through Steam. Additionally,I enjoy going to the gym twice a week, driving around with my dashcam and spending time with family and friends. Something I hope to do in future is to do some gameplay videos and upload them on my YouTube channel.

Q: What made you decide to get into creating modifications for GTA V?

Having started playing the First Response series with LCPDFR in its final stages just before LSPDFR was released, I was used to having all kinds of modifications at my disposal. When I started playing LSPDFR after its release, I realised how much I was taking for granted when it came to LCPDFR modifications for GTA IV and how difficult and time-consuming it had to be to redevelop all of these amazing modifications for LSPDFR (think Police Helper, Callouts+ etc.). I had always had a vague interest in coding and I thought a new, fresh game like GTA V combined with LSPDFR was the perfect opportunity to dive in. There were plenty of excellent learning opportunities around the LSPDFR API development forums and the internet – three days into my learning process I released my first modification for LSPDFR 0.2b called More Jail Points. This very first version allowed the player to teleport to the Downtown jail by pressing the 9 key when they had a prisoner in the back of their car. After the custody officer had removed the prisoner, the player was teleported back to their original location. This basic concept later grew into my currently released modification Arrest Manager as you know it today.

Q: Out of your modifications, do you have a favourite?

Absolutely – my favourite modification is definitely Traffic Policer. I originally started playing the First Response series just for the traffic policing capabilities, like pulling people over and writing out tickets. In LCPDFR, Police Helper featured ambient event related to traffic. In LSPDFR, however, no such thing existed; thus, the first version of Traffic Policer was purely focused on ambient events and traffic offences. Later, I added stuff like the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) callouts, road management features, parking tickets and speed checker. One of the more controversially received features I added was the drugalyzer: this is actually a real device used by British police to test for cannabis (marijuana) and cocaine at the roadside in an effort to crack down on people driving under the influence of drugs.

I have lost track of exactly how much time I have spent on developing Traffic Policer and getting it to where it stands now. I estimate to have worked on it for at least 300 hours, not counting the time I’ve spent on providing support for people. I intend to grow Traffic Policer further as I consider it my signature modification. I have several things planned at the moment, like further integration with other modifications. Integrating Traffic Policer with Vehicle Search for example, allows drugs evidence to be placed in a suspect’s vehicle in the drugs runners ANPR callout. Furthermore, I am planning on adding an entirely new vehicle insurance database, allowing for even more realistic gameplay for enthusiastic traffic officers.

If you have any uncertainties about the current features of Traffic Policer, I recommend checking out the awesomely designed documentation file that was kindly designed for me by 55CHARLIE.

Q: And excluding your modifications, got a favourite?

One of my favourites is definitely Wilderness Callouts by Alexguirre. I think it’s pretty underrated for what it offers – there are plenty of interesting callouts available, as well as some unique features like the new helicopter camera, air ambulance and binoculars. Lots of work has gone into it and it shows during gameplay: give it a try!

Q: Any future modifications you could maybe share with us, perhaps something in the pipeline?

Currently, I’m mostly working on more content for my existing modifications. For example, I’m planning to add additional callouts for Assorted Callouts, more events and features for Traffic Policer as described above and some new ways to deal with your arrestees for Arrest Manager in the form of mental health drop-off points.

In terms of ‘totally new’ modifications, I have recently started collaborating with FinKone. Among other things, we’re planning to develop a ‘points system’ that will be compatible with our modifications, allowing for special player rewards and allowing for better integration between our mods. I’m really looking forward to the collaboration!

Q: What is your ambition outside of the modding community, any life goals?

At the moment I’m looking to pass my secondary school exams and obtain a degree from university. During and after this time I am happy to face any challenges I may encounter!

Q: And finally, anything you wish to say to the community?

Traffic Policer recently hit 100k downloads, so thank you all very much for that milestone! Also, I would like to specially thank all of the YouTube content creators that use my modifications in their videos – they’re essential for me to get genuine reactions and feedback to my modifications. I watch them on a regular basis!

I would also like to specially thank everybody who has been so kind as to donate to me for my work, as well as all my beta testers, Sam, LMS, MulleDK19 and everyone else who has made RagePluginHook, LSPDFR and therefore my modifications possible!

When I started out, I never thought I would come this far – with some motivation and dedication, you can really come a long way!

And there we have it - that about rounds up our first part of the community spotlight series, massive thank you to Albo1125 for taking part and also Carrythxd and alexguirre for the usage of their photos. If you would like to be featured in our next community spotlight, please feel free to contact myself or Prophet directly via PM.

@Albo1125 Well deserved! It's been an absolute pleasure getting to know you over the months. I still don't think you are human. You never sleep, I don't know if you even eat and I can barely keep up with how fast you're firing out updates or some new creation. I think you're a very talented programmer.. I also consider you a good friend.. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

To code like you do Albo at your age is a huge accomplishment in my opinion.  Your gonna go far!  Thanks for donating your time to these mods.  I do not think I would be playing LSPDFR this long if it was not for your mods.
