RCMP attended a residence after a 911 call was made alleging an assault. Upon arrival, members found no indications of an assault, but a very distraught female approached the members.

"Our members located a female with no visible injuries, but was very visibly upset about something." said Sergeant Brian Grem

The members that attended ultimately discovered that the female was not assaulted, but rather insulted by her boyfriend. According to the recording of the call, however, it's clear the female indicated an assault had taken place.

"It's very serious to call 911 and allege something that never happened. It really ties up resources."

The female was ultimately charged with filing a false report, providing false information to a public officer, and causing a disturbance.

"We take these things seriously."
