I have to ask: When you made this, did you make it using a template with larger dimensions and then downsizing it? How did you get everything to remain so sharp and clear? Or is that just related to computing power rather than texture detail?

It comes down to the resolution. This is a 4096x4096 texture rather than the standard 2048x2048, which is why it's so crisp.

Very interesting. I always wondered if that was achievable. Now, when you make them in 4096x4096, do you then downsize them back to 2048x2048 to fit? Or does it automatically account of the doubled size?

No sirree, it automatically accounts for the new resolution. The only thing you have to be careful about is your vehicle image file, you don't want it getting too large otherwise you're going to run into texture loss. Definitely give it a shot though, I was stunned by the quality difference between resolutions in-game.
