Families punching each other. Police Gang Task Force responding.

Featured Replies

Hey guys. I totally missed that one even though it happened in my own hometown in Germany.

A 19 year old broke up with his girlfriend, the girlfriends family tracked him down and started to beat him up. Shortly after, his family showed up and there was a HUGE fight going on Monday, December 2nd. Apparently, i just read it on the news, police from my hometown had to reach out to a few neighbouring cities for reinforcements, even getting a small Gang Tast Force for "Immigrant Violence" involved. At the high peak it were about 20 people punching each other in front of a schools sport hall. o_O

We never had something like this happen here before. It's a fairly small town. The last time anything happened where almost the whole state of "Northrhine Westfalia" responded, was when some drunken holiday-tourist from the Netherlands started to shoot at somebody in the pedestrian zone, where all the shopping happens.

There's the article. It's in german but i'll put a rough translation below.

*Headline* Mass Brawl in Emmerich

Emmerich. Round 20 males fought each other with sticks and other objects. Motive was a familydispute.

Article from Christian Hagemann

The Massbrawl took place between males of two kurdish-yazidish families from Emmerich, leading to the arrest of 4 man between 25 and 47 years of age. That was reported by the police on Tuesday. Trigger was a non accepted breakup between two young adults of both families.

Three of the arrested suspects met the 19 year old ex-boyfriend and harrassed him, where also a hatchet was used. Through witnesses and alerted members of the family, the number of participants rose up to 20 at times. While trying to break up the fight and de-escalate the situation, two additional persons were harmed. The 19 year old stayed in the hospital, the others where treated on scene and dismissed, or rather refused further medical treatment.

"To stifle a further escalation among the participants and those present, the police forces of Cleve send multiple patrol units, aswell as support from Federal Police and units from the cities Wesel, Duisburg, Borken and Viersen", as the Public Relations Office of the police wrote on Tuesday.

I never thought something like this would happen in this small town xD

Dang!

Who knew that breaking up with your girlfriend would turn into an all-out brawl with police from several cities being called. Just goes to show that the smallest situation can turn into something big.

Yeah...i'm waiting for the time when you can't say hello to someone without them being like "Did you say something funny to me?" in an aggravated stance.
