BlueScreen

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm having this problem with the normal GTA IV since a while ago, when I install GTA IV, and it's about finishing the instalation, I get a Bluescreen.

I've never had that problem before, I've reinstalled GTA IV thousand of times without any problem.

The problem started before I reinstalled GTA IV, sometimes I got bluescreen when launching it, and I got the error increasingly commonly until I couldn't play it never. That's when I decided to reinstall it, and now it's impossible.

I think this was the error I got:

Nombre del evento de problema: BlueScreen (translated, more or less: name of the event of the problem: BlueScreen)

this is not a problem with GTA IV, probably drivers. What are your system specs, and make sure your using the latest graphics drivers for your card.

I had this same issue a while back, When on your browser do you ever get an anti-virus alert called "Trojan anti-virus"? Or any other kind of thing? "PC cleaner, Your PC is running slow!" any thing like those?

It could be failure of something piece of equipment such as hardrive ram, graphics ect.... , need to remember your computer just dosnt give you blue screens for the fun of it 99.9% of the time there is something failing or drivers are corrupted.

This is one tip to help every from blue screens with a computer you should do a clean install of windows ( meaning you delete all your files) At least once every 6-12 months...

Yeah, the specs are not bad, I'm playing EFLC with car mods and ENB without problems.

@gtagamercop: I'll check first the drivers, and then, if it keeps failing I'll look for virus. Anyway, when I started having this problem, some time ago, I did made a computer cleaning with a program, that theoricaly also removed viruses.

@Darkangel: well, I don't like losing all my files or spending days making backups haha, I don't think I'll be doing that

I'm saying do that as the last resort if none of the other solutions fix it. Almost all the computer guys I know do that every 8-12 months. Who likes losing all there files? But isnt it better to make backup any ways just in case your computer crash's or something like that?

I don't think you understand the importance of a clean install of windows every 8-12 months.

1.) Files get corrupted ( most programs can't fix)

2.) Virus, malware, and other things that can harm your computer you may not even know about. Not even the top anti virus can protect you against virus that they don't know exist yet.

You could have some kind of malware or virus eating up your system slowly... ( I dont care if you have a $900 anti virus program it can't protect you against every thing)

3.) Cleans up files you don't need and will help your computer with speed ect....

4.) Get a chance to start over..

5.) When you do a fresh install I don't think you know how much stress it takes off your computer...

I could go on all day about things that it would fix, you came here for help but you seem to ignore it. My fix is a last resort do it if none of the other solutions fix it. Longer you have the problem the worst it will get.

Its kind of like having a infected cut, you just ignore it thinking it will get better before you know your entire arm is infected you in to the doctor and they say they need to take the arm off.

Now back to the blue screen like I said but you kind of ignored it was, if you get a bluescreen that means something isnt working right or I should say 99.99% of the time that means that. More then likely you have hardware problem or a driver is corrupted...

Try downloading Advanced system care http://www.iobit.com...temcareper.html

Its goal is to fix up your computer it helps alot download it and do a full scan and than repair all the problems it gives you....

A BSOD is not a reason to reinstall your OS! That is always the last resort.

I probably should have explained specifically what I wanted, unfortunately? I have not got any BSODs on any computer at the moment so I cannot explain in detail what I am after.

If you right click your latest .dmp in the tool you should have the option to generate a HTML report, the info in that should help. Also there is an option to Google the bug and driver, that might help you also.

You are using the WRONG right theme!
