0xc0000005 (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION) Crash

Featured Replies

Spoiler

Hello all,

So I've had a crash that has plagued me for quite a while now {0xc0000005 (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION)} I have tried a laundry list of things I've found across all corners of the internet including but not limited to:

disabling safe boot,

disabling Data Execution Prevention,

disabling Windows Security,

adjusting maximum allocated memory in system,

setting exe's to run as admin,

setting GTA5.exe to max priority and Social Club to low,

verifying Registry locations and tokens,

reinstalling Direct X,

reinstalling Visual C++ Redistributable,

resetting graphics to default values,

reinstalling graphics drivers,

updating graphics drivers,

updating Windows,

disabling plugins folder,

disabling mods folder,

reverting to multiple backups before I began crashing,

and completely wiping Windows.

My Specs:

Acer Predator Helios 300

Intel i78750H @ 2.21 GHz boost to 4.0 GHz
16.0 GB ddr4 RAM

NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB

I do have Heap Adjuster (set to 750), Packfile Limit Adjuster, CScenario Patch, WOV Casino Gameconfig. And my graphics settings are WAAAY in the green, but I do have Natural Vision Remastered and World of Variety (I have had these way before the crashes).

The crash used to occur every 13 minutes and 50 seconds (yes, I timed it because I couldn't find any other commonality in when I got the crash) but the last few days it has been less predictable allowing me to play longer without the crash and sometimes shorter.

Any help is much appreciated!

I’ve also reinstalled LSPDFR and Rage. ^

Unfortunately, exception violations are the worst to get, because they can be caused by anything.  Try removing all of your plugins, scripts and LSPDFR plugins.  Play LSPDFR bone dry with just LSPDFR and see what happens.

Thank you very much for the reply! Unfortunately I am still getting the crash bare bones, but I do get to play much longer before it does.

The very last thing I can suggest is reinstalling LSPDFR and Rage.  However, I believe the issue might be your PC and lack of memory/ram/etc.  In your case, I think exception violation means either GTA or LSPDFR is trying to use far too much memory.

I came to a similar conclusion, but I just found it weird that after 2 years of playing LSDPFR it began to do this out of the blue... I’ve tried reinstalling LSPDFR and Rage and it didn’t help. Do you think that deleting and rebuilding my mods folder might help? (I just really haven’t wanted to do it, ya know? 😂)

It could, depending on what all you have modded.  Before doing that, rename the mods folder to _mods

This will disable the mods folder.  Go in game and play for the usual time you do and see if it crashes at all.

So I rebuilt my mods and it seems to have fixed the crash. I’ve got a couple odd crashes here and there, but it’s much smoother overall. I guess two years is a while for junk to accumulate.... Thanks for your support!

Glad you figured it out. 🙂  I'm the same way, I accumulate a lot of stuff in my mods folder and never update my game (always reverting).
