ppm already came out with the spike strips, but who comes out with the road blocks first? and do you guys think that if Lil-Rich has a road block mod/spikestrips mod, im assuming that he is talking about lcpdfr if he's talking about police pursuit mod then nevermind this post, but if he has already has made a scripts for the strips and road blocks do you guys think it will be in the .95 or the next version of lcpdfr after that?

  • Its not needed, plus its almost never used in real life because it creates too much danger for the officers at the road block and civillians stopped because of it if the suspect refuses to stop.

You can never really tell. Let's say he does have a script for roadblocks (hypothetical). This would not mean that it could make it in time for .95, since there is always a long process after a script is added in which we have to parse through gameplay to locate bugs and then report them.

In essence, it doesn't matter if he has a script or not. Roadblocks probably will not be here when .95 is released. I know that Lil-Rich did experiment with roadblocks a while ago but since then it would appear that road blocks need a lot of improvements.

It is only a matter of time before they are added, but don't expect them in the .95 stable release.

i was just GTA4 on my xbox and let me tell you road blocks are effective i am speeding down a road in a comet looking behind me and shooting at the cops i look

forward and i have some NOOSE enforcers and NOOSE cops armed with assault rifles to greet me i brake to i turn to the left but i was too late

i slam into the enforcers and the NOOSE cops open up couldn't back because the 10 cop cars chasing me get behind me and i was shot A LOT

it would be awesome to have in a chase

Ever just stand on the side walk and just wait, eventually you will have a backed up line of cars honking their horns and trying to drive around each other due to an idiot who decided to do a u-turn and crashed into a tree and died or something..

It would be fun to play with imho but would be unnecessary just because the AI cant drive worth crap. just a simple PIT maneuver will render them undrivable 3/4th the time. because they backup drive forward backup repeat process. this gives you enough time to get out and throw them on the ground and arrest them

The AI do indeed drive like crap, but that isn't really a strike against having roadblocks in the future. The point of roadblocks (one of many, it appears) is to stop a vehicle from entering a certain road, in essence. They could also be used to block civilian traffic from interfering with a pursuit. Those are the points people are really trying to drive home here, and the fact that the AI can't drive for crap doesn't really apply to roadblocks, in my view, because a roadblock can be used to stop whole roads or lanes, while a PIT will stop 1 vehicle. That's really why most people want roadblocks. They fill a niche that the PIT maneuver can not.

I didnt say anything about it not ever having to be added I was just stating how I felt about roadblocks, Now if it could be scripted so that the AI driver would do an immediate U-turn or turn roads ASAP if he sees the roadblock that would make it more interesting. You could easily intimidate the AI driver to take an alternate course if you can get an Idea were he is headed.

As related to PIT stopping only 1 car.. Thats all you really chase in LCPDFR unless its planning to add more runners? (E.G. Street racers)

Yeah, I know you never said anything about it not being added, I probably worded my post wrong, sorry. I guess my post about the PIT maneuver doesn't make the most sense since the suspect and the civilian population are two separate entities.

My old AP language teacher would be so disappointed :(
