I get the "out of video ram" fatal error which i looked into another thread about it. Someone posted http://www.gtaforums...howtopic=384292 which doesn't explain it for AMD/ATi just Nvidia. My game is updated to 1.0.7.0. I also have the G17 diagnostics report . My gaming rig passes the system requirements with flying colors: http://i47.tinypic.com/2rp5jso.png . My system so people don't ask: AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ (6 CPUs), AMD Entertainment Edition 4GB x2 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333, dual Crossfirex XFX CORE Edition FX-777A-ZNBR Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 (main x16, 2nd x4), Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I turned all the game settings on high and low with resolution on high and low. I even turned my video settings down in CCC and i play the game for a few mins and i get the error. Iv'e been playing this game for 2 days now without any problems until now. I have swapped a few vehicles in the game and i only have lcpdfr and els for mods. I hope someone can help me.

There are multiple ways to fix this problem, but some ways can fail. That's why you should try to give your pc more ram to your game. I am showing you 3 options how you can do that.

PLEASE, READ ALL SOLUTIONS BEFORE TAKING ANY ACTION!

1. Download software.

There is a program called ''Large Address Aware''. You can simply add GTA to the list, and allow it to use more then 2 GB of ram. You can even force that. Worth to check out. (I use it myself)

http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556

2. Edit your PC RAM settings. (I did this to)

This is a advanced step.

- Go to System Properties.

- System Properties >> Advanced >> Performance Settings >> Advanced >> Virtual Memory Edit >> And edit your settings to the proper ones.

You can find the settings on google, you have to do some mathematics.

3. Commandline.txt (I use it myself)

This is the most simple step and safest, I highly recommend this solution, this is a txt file you make inside your GTA folder.

You put inside that txt file the following things:

-norestrictions

-nomemrestrict

You save it, and your game will run like a machine.

To wrap it up, right click inside the GTA Main Folder, select > New > Txt Document > (You put in the data: -norestrictions & -nomemrestrict) > you save it with the name: Commandline.txt

-----

Let me know if it worked, remember that step 2 can be dangerous. Any questions? Feel free to ask.

Regards,

Greg Wilson.

I did exactly what you said to do on each step.#1, That program was for 32bit OS system. I stated i have 64bit and that post states that i don't need to use this program if i have a 64bit OS. I tried it anyways. #2 The reccommended paging file in MB it said to put is 12256MB. I did that and restarted my pc. #3 I created a commands.txt file Z:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto IV\GTAIV folder with the 2 commands side by side and then i tried in a list form. I still get http://i50.tinypic.com/2vacqzd.png .I can disable crossfirex and see how the game runs with 1 video card with !GB of ram. That didn't work either. Different help please.

@wolfcock: When i open the game it comes up to where i have to click yes to run the game. I have all my games set that way.

@Greg: If you didn't read my first post all the way, i'll post this again in bold letters this time. I have for ram: AMD Entertainment Edition 4GB x2 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (2x 4GB dimms)

I play the game for mins or seconds or 20mins, then the game goes to my desktop and i get http://i50.tinypic.com/2vacqzd.png . I don't like repeating myself. I have xfire: halopcdraco my steam is sysdeleted

This is telling you that your out of Video Memory, this has nothing to do with Ram, so maybe your graphics card needs a update, or one of the cars you have are way too high poly, or just simply messing with the game.

AMD 12.8 is buggy, so i rolled back my driver to 12.6. 12.8 made my screen do some weird things when i went on youtube. I know the error has nothing to do with ram. I was just giving greg the info he asked for...... again. I have replaced the original vehicles.img file. I replaced 1 vehicle. I replaced the police patriot with 2006 TAHOEZ7 1v1.1ELS and i drove down the street about 1 1/2 blocks and the game crashed with a different error. So i'm reinstalling the game and will only put in lcpdfr, els and that 1 police truck.

Resolved. I had to take out the modded car that was saved in my parking space for the http://i46.tinypic.com/qmxl01.png to not happen again. Now sometimes lcpdfr crashes the game but i guess that happens to everyone.
