So i was thinking lately how cool would it be if there was a point/ranking system in LSPDFR. I know it was take a crazy amount of work but it could change how everyone plays LSPDFR completely so let me explain.

 

You as the player should be rewarded for playing lspdfr the "right way" and what i mean by this is for selecting the correct charges on someone you get points or xp. When you take the aressty back to the station you get points/xp. By doing a full investigation like finding out there drunk but using Interaction+  and going thru all the motion of solving a crime you get xp/points.

 

But on the other side if you do it wrong you will lose Points/XP. Like if you search there car without asking or having a reason you get negative Points/XP. If you shoot someone for any reason you lose points because no officer ever wants to shoot someone.

 

And the more Points/XP you have by being a "Good" Officer/Deputy you rank up. Officer,Detective, Cpl, Sgt, Lt, Captain, Chief/Sheriff. 

 

But the higher rank you are the more punishing it is to the player for making mistake meaning they can lose rank quicker at Sgt then as a detective.

 

Say if you shoot someone as a Detective you lose 50 points/xp.

 

But as a Captain you lose 100 points. same goes for putting the wrong charges and making mistakes in callouts and traffic stops.

 

A plugin like this would add possible 100's of hours of game play due to the fact you can lose said rank and have to keep up the grind, and will add game play time by fully doing investigation.

 

This is just an idea, I am no programmer so i don't even know if this could be done but i thought i would put my idea out there so maybe someone can do it.

i love this idea, but i feel alot of the rank up/rank down suggestions are subjective in nature. there would need to be an objective standard across the board. totally doable though, many other games have 🙂

Just make it very customizable. You are already creating a lot of variables and limits and constraints - just make a config file that handles it and give that power to the users. 

 

I'll say this, though - it would go a long ways towards creating a persistent simulation and environment. You want it to be gonzo? config it to be gonzo. You want realistic? coonfig it to be realistic. You wanna turn it off? Fine.
