I dont know what to do. I bought a serial key online, have installed multiple copies trying to get it to run smooth, including installing patches etc. Here is my debugging log. I dont care about online, so is there any other ways i can avoid securom and still have 1.0.7.0 + LCPDFR and it running properly? Thanks!

3.4GHZ, I have that patch. :s im so confused, my hardware playes starcraft II maxed same as diablo 3 etc, but cant function properly with gta?

I had to manually install 1.0.7 though.

GTA IV is not very well made when it comes to being playable

On my PC I am pretty lucky that it runs a bit smooth because when I start driving high speed I get laggy

Also on the back side it says made for multi-core what do you have? dual-core or maybe quad-core?

Yes, it is an i7 2600k @ 3.4GHz, 8GB RAM, 2GB Raedon HD 6670 video card, i have the patch.... WHAT AM I DOING WRONG I know its coded poorly, but either way with these specs, it should be a walk in the park. ON MAX graphics settings it only uses 1000mb/2000mb for usage (when it tell you in the graphics menu on GTA IV).

Its fine when I walk. Only in cars its choppy and laggy, getting about 22 fps - 30 fps, whereas walking 45+ fps

Also, 1.5TB HDD, 5 month old computer. It seems to get smoother the more I play it, anyone else had this?

well... i have nearly identical specs with know problem... hell, you have a better graphics card than i do... not sure why its throwing you a problem...

Make sure you don't have a virus or anything....

Someone please link me to a LAUNCHGTAIV.exe version 1.0.7.0, my launcher details (under properties) in program files says version one still, yet I KNOW patch 1.0.7. is installed, I ran the diagnostics tool from here + manually installed it by extracting the .msi loader. Anyone care to see my Error Log?

Is it an illegal download of piratebay or something similar? if so that is your problem get the proper game of Amazon or somewhere legit then it should work perfectly with your computers specs. Take a look at my computer for example an old macbook late 2009 intel core duo with 4gb of Ram and a 9400M with 256 MB of VRAM it still runs GTA IV. Also what settings have you got the graphics set to on the game maybe you're being to ambitious. Sorry about my grammar im very tired

Now you're asking for someone to upload a copy of the game...really? Go out and buy the game, legally. You'll get more support if it's a legal copy.

I BOUGHT THE GAMES CD-KEY ONLINE. And no, just the 5 MB .exe file found where the games installed.

bump@! It shouldnt be hard to buy a CD key, install an .iso and play it through Windows live that way, i can play online, my game copy is legal.

You cannot legally buy GTA IV's CD key anywhere, anywhere that has told you otherwise is lying. Click here for a list of places you can legally buy the game and demand a refund from where you got that key.
