TL;DR - Albos troubleshooter doesent work for 0.4 atm

Hello folks,

 

Recently I've seen a lot of people on not only @Albo1125's discord, but also on here that his troubleshooter is "unable to obtain file permissions" while using LSPDFR version 0.4 and I thought I would address it, as its really annoying seeing Albos troubleshooter getting downvoted because of a simple issue that people think make his troubleshooter "terrible" and "stupid". (General quotes.)

Its a simple issue that has probably been addresed by @Albo1125 100 times, The 0.4 version of LSPDFR just simply isint compatible with the current version.

 

After a tremendous amount of requests in albos discord about this problem, he said he is in the process of fixing it. The reason it is showing this issue is due to the fact thats some permissions on folders that 0.4 added are inable to be opened (because of the different types of file permissions needed) and therefore the Troubleshooter cannot fix the issues automatically.

 

ALBO HAS NOT ABANDONED HIS TROUBLESHOOTER, AS WE ALL KNOW HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF FIXING IT! DON'T REVIEW HIS PLUGIN 1 STAR BECAUSE OF THIS.

I wanted to address this as it is hurtful on my end to see this great author getting downvoted for this.

Thank you for the update. I didn’t downvote the troubleshooter but was getting very annoyed that it kept giving me that message. I figured it was some kind of compatibility issue and have been waiting patiently for an update.

When will this be fixed??? I downloaded a new GTA5 file from Steam and downloaded LSPDFR 0.4.2and it worked great but when I download Arrest Manager, Traffic Policer and then LSPDFR+  I have 2 errors I am still unable to automatically fix due to permissions issues... is there any way I could show you my log and you could walk me thro what I can do to just fix the problem manually instead of waiting???

Hi Everyone 

After only being able to watch lspdfr on YouTube for 6 years hoping one day I'll be able to play it, I've finally inherited a gaming pc thanks to my bro. 

 

First thing I did was download gtav on steam and lspdfr. 

 

However I am having the same issue with other when trying to install mods, mainly Arrest mod, Traffic mod and script mod. 

 

I know people were saying this was being worked on last year but it seems as though the problem is still there and to be honest I'm struggling to get the full experience. 

 

I'm not very good at this sort of thing manually and really need help.

 

What would be amazing is if someone could hop on to my pc via screen share and help me. 

 

Any help would be amazing.

This post was in 2019. 

Yes, but it has been like this since 0.4 came out.

Again, this post was in 2019, as soon as 0.4 came out.

 

People on the help forums were complaining of his troubleshooter not working, albo at the time did not update his plugin to say it did not work with 0.4

 

Please stop messaging on this thread, its useless and the post was to help people when it first came out, the post is practically redundant. Thanks.
