Basic but important questions about vehicles mods

Featured Replies

Hello

I'm planning to add some CHP cars to my GTA to have a good time patroling the highways. Since I've never installed a car mod before, I'll try to do it as a replacement (not add-on).

First of all: if I mess up my GTA V after the whole process, is it enough deleting the mods folder in order to get the game working again?

And, what do I have to do with those .meta files (vehicle, carvariation, carcols) that come with the mods? Replace the original .meta files? Where are they located?

Yes. You can mess around with the mods folder all you want, after deleting the files (or the mods folder) your game will work fine.

I could be wrong about this since i haven't modded cars in a LONG time, but if I remember correctly .meta files have a list of multiple cars handling etc. So you need to only edit the part which belongs to the car you are replacing. -- Replacing the entire file will remove other modded cars handling that you've added, if that makes sense.
