Police Search by FtDLulz is what I use. It let's you search both the front, back and the sides of a vehicle and even pedestrians as well. Great mod, I highly recommend it.

I've always used Darkmyre's Search Warrant, which is on his website and available still.  It offers the same functions as Police Search.  Really, both are the same mod, just different authors and maybe slightly different features.  Comes down to your preference.
