Textures begin to load slow then finally disappear! Help!

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've been having a huge problem with my GTA recently which is that the textures begin to load slowly. Textures lose their detail and if I press 'esc', the textures totally disappear.

My computer specs are:

Intel® Core i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz - 2.4 GHz Performance Rated at: 6.00 GHz

4.0 Gb of RAM

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

GeForce GT 525M with 1Gb of VRAM

Realtek High Definition Audio

It is a Dell XPS 15 L502X laptop.

Mods:

I have a few car mods. They are fine at the moment; I went in the LCPD:FR .ini and changed 'preloadallmodels'.

I have ELS V6 (I THINK IT'S V6)

Indicator script

IVDashcam

Less Overtaking

Traffic Control

GTA IV has problems with Memory Leaks when running high poly vehicle mods which the game was not designed for. You're only real options are to lower your graphics settings, get a better graphics card or simply change your car mods to lower poly models or remove them all together.

My models are - in terms of ridiculous numbers of polys - fine I think.

The thing that confuses me is that the game runs incredibly smooth until something starts to go amiss. I really don't know what the problem is at all.

The only other thing I can think of is the RAM. Is 4Gb enough to be handling ELS and stuff?

I have this issue when I have ENB/ICE installed with several car mods. It's definitely not a RAM issue, I have 8GB.

Hmmm. I'm still gonna buy myself a little more RAM because my Google Chrome seems to have a memory leak... >.<

I can't see what's going wrong. The textures begin to load slower when I move around the city. I've disabled the ELS setting which makes AI use ELS, but it hasn't worked.

It's not going to be ELS. I have ELS and several script and car mods installed, I find the game can get a little laggy with all the settings on high. It's more than likely a combination of high graphics settings and car mods. I can play the game on all high settings + full draw distance, but with mods I need to turn the draw distance down or I notice a little lag. Adding in ENB or a timecyc mod causes the textures to go haywire and load really slowly or even disappear completely.

Understand that with full draw distance on and high graphics settings your computer has to render all those car mods driving around (even the ones you can't see but are within the draw distance radius), plus the one your driving, plus all of the shadow and other assorted details. I would like a fix for this too so I can have all the mods, full draw distance plus a lovely ENB installed. But I fear the only fix would be a better graphics card or less car mods (however I don't know a great deal about computers and an even less amount about hardware so don't quote me).
