Why on Earth is this happening?

It happens periodically though and is also affected by camera movements

It's called texture loss. It happens quite often when you have moded vehicles installed or any map edits to gta5. Lower your distance scaling and get a game config setting with 0.1x settings. It also pops up roughly 20-40mins of game play with lspdfr depending on your pc and how many vehicles you spawned. Only way to fix it is to restart your game. Can't do anything once it happens.

@Pav500 Ugh, it happens in the first 10-15 minutes of gameplay while on duty in LSPDFR..maybe it's these new vehicles I installed today..thanks for the reply, just for the record I leave my system specs here:

- Intel Core i5 7300HQ

- NVIDIA GEForce GTX 1050

- 8GB of RAM

Could definitely be the vehicles.

Now all PCs can handle 4k liveries if the car has them.

or

The vehicles themselves could be very high poly.
