Texture For Vehicle Not Available To Select

Featured Replies

I downloaded TugBoat's texture FPIU Explorer Waterloo Regional Police Skin for Captain14 LSPD Pack 1.0.0 . I think it requires Captain14's LSPD Pack 14, but I could not find it anywhere in the lspdfr library. The closest I could find was Pack 2.0.0 .

The texture (2016FPI_sign_1.png)  is supposed to replace the " FPIU sign" according to the instructions on Tugboat's page. There was no "FPIU" specifically, but there was a "2016FPI_Sign_1". I replaced it with the texture replacement.

But when I go to the game, I can't find this unit. Have I done something wrong? Perhaps the texture isn't compatible with v2 of Captain14's LSPD pack? I left a messsage of Tugboat's page, but I don't think that's really for support requests. Does v1 still exist? I will admit there is a good chance my search techniques aren't really refined enough to narrow down on it.

And so I continued to try installing more vehicles, learning by mistake as I go ...

I would like to add MXPHOENIX's OPP Texture Pack 1.0.0 to my fleet. To use the CVPI model, I have to install BxBugs123' 2011 CROWN VICTORIA LASD/LSSD V1.4A model. BxBug123's CVPI is installed through an OpenIV installer, so I don't know where they were installed to add MXPhoenix's textures. Since Captain14's pack also had a CVPI model, was it replaced? Or do I have two different CVPI models by seperate authors? Would they share the same slot (anyway of knowing whos is whos?)? Or would BXBug's fill it's own slot? Can one have more than one model of the same vehicle by different auithors?

So, obviously I'm confused and running around in circles with a panic on. How would one normally accomplish what I need to do?

BTW ... I am using a 5x traffic, 5x peds gameconfig.xml file for GTAV v1.0.1493. I believe I had to do this for Capatin14's pack.

This is not LSPDFR related, you should post it in GTAV Support

And also, if the skin doesn't work on a vehicle, just use another vehicle, I don't really understand your problem here

Ignore the hall monitor below your first post. Waste of text.

You did everything right with the FPI explorer. It doesn't matter the name of the file. You just have to make sure you click replace and not import. You need to replace the texture and its as simple as that.

As for buggs' cvpi installer you need to see what vehicle model is spawn ingame. For example if you spawn police2 and that's buggx vehicle then you search police2.yft and police.ytd inside your openiv. You must run A search with the search feature. Also you can open an OIV installer with winrar. You open the assembly file with notepad and it literally says where it goes.

I downloaded it and here is a screenshot of what it does. Buggs has 2 vehicle packs inside there

http://prntscr.com/keal7j

So this would replace the sheriff model and police 4. Now remember you can only use one of the oiv installers buggs has inside. 1 pack is lasd the other is lssd.

Lastly you DO NOT need to use  5x traffic, 5x peds  version of game config. You simply need to have the gameconfig file it doesnt matter what amount of traffic or amount of peds.

A modded game config is needed all the time so you can add modded vehicles without crashing your game.  A gameconfig is always required after every update such as ragehook and scripthook, all of them are essential.

@pav500 if i reverted back to the previous version of RPH would i still need to update the gameconfig back to a custom one?  or when you revert back does it not touch the gameconfig.

it does touch the gameconfig. ragehook backs up everything in Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf So each time gta updates, I personally change my gameconfig which is a must, the visual settings, vehicle meta, and the dlclist.xml needs to all change. Also why are u going back to a previous version and not up to the latest?

Yeah I understand, I remember the last update was in march and i didnt want to change but I just went with it because might as well. I always back up my entire gta folder which is like 100 something gb. Everything is fixable all the time after an update. Just remember what you change inside mods\update\update.rpf and you are perfectly set.

Yeah i have a couple of copies myself.  Coastal Callouts & Just LSPDFR with no coastal with an original lol.  So do you think i have to re-install my gameconfig even if i didnt update?  I guess thats my main question.

Are you worried about the difficulty of installing gameconfig? Because its a simple copy and paste file.

You only need to reinstall game config if your game is crashing with modded vehicles. That's the only reason for it.

Theres the main download on gta 5mods titled "Gameconfig (1.0.1493.0) for Limitless Vehicles & Personal Save Game"

with 400k downloads. It contains the gameconfig.xml for the current gta after hours dlc and also for previous versions of gta which is what you would pick for yourself.

Nah i have the file i was just wondering because i was having an issue with a police4 replacement all of a sudden and wondered if that could be it.  Im at work now just trying to fish for ideas.  I was talking to @HazyTube about it which he gave me some advice but i guess overwriting it again wont hurt.

I can't for the life of me find that texture. In the garage, I can select (what I think is) the FBI Exporer. I can button that model to see a variety of variations of it, but not the Waterloo texture that I put into the police7.ytd at E:\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\lspdpack\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\lspdpack.rpf\

Very handy to know!

I installed the LASD_1.4_&1.4OSS version.

With open IV, I navigated to E:\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday5ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\ (where the assembly file indicated the model was installed) and opened the police4.ytd file. I exported the 8 .png texture files (tugboat's OPP) into this archive and saved it. I did the same with police4+hi.ytd.

But like the FPI ... I can't find these varieties of CVPI anywhere. I can select the CVPI variation in the garage, and step through a series of variations, but none of them are the OPP textures.

Am I only to export/replace one texture? Do I have to move the texture(s) to the sherrif.ytd as well as the police4.ytd?

AM I ok to continue to use the gameconfig file I used? Or is there a preferred one. I only used it because the first nondescript version I found didn't do what I thought it would do (find my missing textures) so I tried abnother, which clearly made no difference.
