I had some car mods installed (a car pack actually) and it was working fine just now i tried to play the game and it didn't crash it is just stuck on the mission loading screen. Please help. Also I have verified integrity and it works but i would really like to be able to use the mod, as it has some of my favorite cars, and an awesome handling mod. Please help!!!!

you possibly have a bad save game did you happen to save on duty or save when you had a modded car in your save car parking spot?

i did save on duty with modded police cars

delete save game, start over, if you are not using xlive here's what you do

hit your windows logo,

type run in the search bar,hit enter,

type %appdata% hit enter,

go to local

go to rockstar games

go to gtaiv

go to savegames

delete files inside

if you use xlive.dll

go to documents

go to rockstargames

go to gtaiv

go to savegames

delete

note, if you change your default keys for the game, you might have to reset them to your liking if you do this

protips, don't save on duty, don't save in any other character model other than the main character, do not save with a modded car in your save car slot out side the safe house

i have the game on steam

that shouldn't matter, save location is mostly always the same if its not in rockstar games try steams's folder

i dont have a rockstar or steam folder in roaming. im sorry im being difficult lol

would it work if i just verified went in the game and deleted the save from inside the game??

Interesting....Seems you go right to roaming...just hit appdata behind the roaming, and go to local, my bad, it never used to do this to me

well im an idiot lol when i hit appdata it automaticly put me in roaming. anyway i did that and verified the integrity of the game cache but now its stuck on "starting new game"

hit the appdata up in your path bar, and you should go to the main folder, where there's a folder called LOCAL

i did that and went to Rockstar Games, GTA IV, savegames and deleted eveything. still stuck on starting new game

O.o weird....hrm......that's odd...how long did you wait?

like 2 minutes im about to just trying going in and deleting where i put the car mod and just let it redownload and see if that works

ok game is working now i will try and reinstall the mod later i have to cook diner that you so much Asuna for the help

yea, try removing some of the mods and see what happens, My personal rule of thumb, 10 minute wait, if that fails, start removing things

ok the game runs fine until i put the car pack in then it crashes on start up. i guess i just cant have the pack unless anyone can think of a nother reason it isnt working
