One of the most annoying things is when you want to taze a suspect, but they move to close and it results in the auto melee, which kills them.  It would be really nice if this could be removed, and instead just nothing happens, or at the very least, we push them away instead.

I cannot provide any insight, but all I can say is yes!! I thought I was the only one.   I always say they deserved it after the fact though 

There's nothing more annoying as well when dealing with a suspect and you press B on the controller to leave the menu but your character knocks them out in the process.

Haven't tried it myself, but this could be it?

I could try coding comething that checks if the melee task is active and if so the player's task will be cleared.

There is probably a better solution but I'll look into it.

ok so I did a few tests...

tried clearing the player's task when it's active but gta makes the ped still play the animation and dies like normal so I don't think this can be done.
