I recently updated RPH, and GTA V. I could not load the game up, I would just be stuck on the "Waiting for loading screen" forever than an error message would arrive.

After installing the updated version of script hook V, the same problem would occur.

I even updated my update.rpf folder, with no avail.

So the issue isn't your mods folder.  Do you have a scripts folder?  Temporarily remove the folder, then try.  If that doesn't work, you might need to do a fresh install of Rage, LSPDFR and SHV.

I have nothing in my scripts  folder but tried anyways, nothing better occurred. I re-installed LSPDFR, Script Hook V, and the same still didn't load.

I'm reverting my game to a previous version, and then will update again if it doesn't work.

If any of you are using OpenIV to modify any parts of your game; make sure to open it and copy the new update.rpf to your file library.

 

It should fix your problem. (it did for me)

I actually tried again, and it will load with without my mods folder.

I did, I then put the old version back in to not lose my vehicles.

It still doesn't prompt me to update it under OPENIV

The old update.rpf won't work, you have to update it to the new version and re-add your vehicles. It's the annoying process everyone that updates has to do.

I deleted it, and it still didn't prompt me to update.

It's not going to.  You have to manually do it yourself.  Just go into the vanilla update.rpf, click "edit mode", and you'll see an option to make it in the mods folder.

I deleted my old update.rpf, and copied it into mods folder and my game is still getting the same message.

Delete your mods folder entirely.

 

If it's still crashing, verify integrity of game cache.

go to C:\Users\James\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V and look at the launcher.txt show us it, I have the same problem and think that it shows what is wrong. It was 0xc0000005 for me. idk how to fix that but I believe someone does.
