Yet another infinite loading screen problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

First post here - brand new to the game in general, so please excuse any obvious cluelessness. :smile:

I managed to get RPH, ScriptHookV and friends running without problems the other day, but when I went to start up tonight I had a mysterious crash shortly after loading. Now my game sticks on "loading story mode", using CPU and slowly leaking more and more RAM until I kill it via Task Manager.

The problem does affect vanilla as well, but as I'm assuming it has something to do with RPH I figured it would be better to post it here first.

Thus far I've tried:

* Disabling ASI Manager

* Replacing my gameconfig.xml with the vanilla version

* Renaming the mods folder

* Removing the savefiles

* Verifying the game files through Steam

No joy. Is there something I'm missing?

Attached is the most recent RagePluginHook.log.

Thanks in advance!

I hate to sound like an impatient jerk, but...bump?

I've noticed a bunch of topics like this one that have gone ignored...getting a little worried now.

@Metacity Try running the game as normal without Rage Hook (via GTA5 Launcher.) Once in game hit ALT+Tab, then run Rage Hook as an admin. See if that fixes somewhat of the problem.

Hey, thanks for the response! Unfortunately, that didn't make a difference...it still does the same thing as before.

Hey Metacity,

When Rage Hook loads up click the gear icon (settings), go into  the game config and check that start in windowed mode is enabled. When in game is loaded you can full screen it.

@Metacity  If that doesn't work ^, try moving your mods folder onto your desktop. If GTA runs fine after removing the mods folder, then just create a new mods folder.

Hey,

Sorry about the huge delay in responding - other things came up.

@Wildcat90 Thanks for the advice, but I play in windowed mode anyway...would it even make a difference?

@OfficerLemin Unfortunately I can't test that, because RPH made things worse by trying to revert the new patch - the game now crashes instantly the moment it tries to start. And with their site down at the moment, I can't update... *sigh*

Have you tried Albo's troubleshooter?

It might solve your problem you're having!

Remove your mods folder and try to load the game through rage. If the game loads then you know it has something to do with your mods.
