Hello everyone, a week ago I went out and bought a $900 gaming PC basically for LSPDFR. I've been trying to install it correctly for hours upon hours! Sometimes the Mod runs but as soon as I try to add anything it stops working. Mostly Police trainer. I'm in desperate need of help, I've been to so many forums, YouTube videos, and Installation texts etc. I'm about to give up, LSPDFR is a dream come true, please help me get this working. THANK YOU!

There isn't really a "police trainer", there's just regular trainers.  What one are you trying to add?

I'm just trying to add LSPDFR and when I have just that it seems to work but when I try to put car mods in or the updated police radio, I return to the game and when I press F4 it just pauses the game. I have wiped the slate clean again for the 10th time and will be trying again. There is something I'm not doing correctly with the install of RAGEHOOK or OPENIV.asi stuff. I've tried doing it all manually with 7zip and I've tried winrar. I'm completely lost.

For the issue of F4 pausing the game, this will fix it:  Go to the RagePluginHook Settings ---> Game settings ---> Command line switches check "Force Windowed mode" and "Force DirectX11" then save and launch.  You can change back to full screen once in game.

Awesome thank you. so I just re-downloaded GTA V and I'm geting ready to try the install again. do you know if LSPDFR 0.3.1 comes with the needed script hooks and all of that? I guess I don't know enough about computers to pull this off. If you would be willing to give me extensive 1 on 1 help with this I would be willing to make a generous donation to a channel of yours or something like that.

ScriptHookV is not a requirement for LSPDFR/Rage, so it doesn't come with the download.  The LSPDFR download does come with RagePluginHook.

Thank you! I will be trying to install later today, if I have a problem I will ask for help and won't proceed until you've replied. Also I was curious to know if you are aware of a very detailed step by step instructional I can print and follow as I go? Again thank you.

I'm not aware of a text based guide, unfortunately, but there are a few video ones.  There is this text guide, but it's not like a full on install guide - https://www.lcpdfr.com/lspdfr/install

GREAT! So I got LSPDFR installed and working but now I'm having serious problems with replacing cars. All the mods seem to be ELS mods. The cars are in the game anf look great but none of the lights work except the flashing rear tail lights.

I'm guessing you already have ELS installed then, yes? If no, follow the attached link to get ELS installed

You might also wanna get this one, will brighten up every light in the game a little depending on which file you chose. Highly recommended

I did have ELS at one point but I was still having the same problem. I would rename the files, press "edit mode" and the car showed up but no lights. I'll try this link and see what happens. Thank you.

Oh, this sounds like an xml issue... Have you added the xml files that came with each car model you imported into OpenIV? Every ELS car comes with an xml document which holds all of the information about lights and more. This goes into your, Grand Theft Auto V > ELS > pack_deafult. Meaning the folder where your LSPDFR is installed

Edit: XML documents should have the same name as the files added into OpenIV.

I downloaded ELS-IV but it is not a zip file, it comes through as just a document. Not sure if that is normal. Also something I've noticed is that when I install RAGE HOOK there is no "ragehook.exe" in the GTAV file. I'm able to launch form ragehook but the file is not called ragehook.exe. And finally I have no GTAV.exe, the only place I can find that is in OPEN IV but there is nowhere to put LSPDFR, RAGEHOOK,etc. I'm thinking I may just be in over my head and it's a pipe dream. I appreciate all your help.

Oh this is beyond my knowledge, sorry. Sounds like you may have installed something in the wrong order or missed something somehow

Ahhh. The xml problem may be what I'm doing wrong. Let me check that out and I'll get back to you. Also do you recommend installing with winrar or 7zip?

I have 7-zip since I like the interface and program over all, I recommend 7-zip yes

It's pretty self explanatory but make sure you read every readme file you get, and read about the requirements of each mod before you download it. I always find myself doing something wrong most of the times until I go back and read about it again

Ok so I got LSPDFR working again minus the drop down when I press F4. I also followed your directions with the ELS mods and the xml document. I installed the ELS mod and the radiance mod and I still have no lights. I replaced the xml doc. in the GTA V main folder and I also tried replacing it in the open IV folder but neither worked. Any other suggestions?

Well, if you downloaded a cop car with the files police.yft, police.ytd & police_hi.yft and if you did in fact add this into OpenIV, you'll also get an xml file which will most likely be called police as well, this xml file goes into Grand Theft Auto V > ELS > pack_default. Some cars also come with a carvariations file, the location for this will most likely be in the 'readme' document you got with the mod. As for the F4, you can't open it at all right?

You can check this link as well, it might answer some questions you have about the more common lspdfr questions
