Gaming computer under $600???

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, I am trying to build a new gaming pc and I want to build one under $600 which of course its possible. I need to know if I should go with INTEL i5 or i7 or AMD stuff? Also what graphics card should I go with and it doesn't have to be GTX. What memory sticks should I go with also and a good see through case. Power supply. Also where can I purchase Windows 10 for cheaper?

Thanks your help will be greatly appreciated

Here are some options if you want to build from brand new and want to play gta5 at comfortable settings, I prefer the AMD build as it can be overclocked. Building a $600 pc is much more difficult over the past year as memory prices have skyrocketed as the same memory are used in smart phones and cryptocurrency mining has risen the prices of graphics cards dramatically as well. Note that these lists don't include the price of windows, if you are or know someone close to you that is a university student, they can obtain a free copy of windows, buying windows keys from ebay or other resellers for steep discounts are a big gamble in not getting scammed.

I know you specifically said "brand new" however I can attest to this as I have done it, on ebay if you look into it there are some great refurbished ex office pcs like dell optiplexs. As these were all office machines you can usually find ones with early to mid model i7s and i5s with 8gb ram ad big hard drives. They usually go for around 200-300 AUD. Once you buy one, you can buy a Graphics Card such as a 1050TI.

To sum it up my machine is a Acer S680G with a i7-870, 8gb RAM and 1TB HDD, it cost me 200 AUD, I then put a low profile 1050Ti in it which was 220 AUD, all up the total cost was 440 AUD.

Yes sure, first gen i7 and could probably have more RAM and HDD but it does leave you with expansion options and the possibility of SSDs and Recasing.

I will eventually upgrade the CPU, RAM and HDD and get a new motherboard and recase it but for now it does the job, I can play GTA V at 60-70FPS on High.
