I have bought the GTA5 game on CD, this is a non Steam version.

Never bought on Steam, as I have had horrible situations with them.

The RageHook however demands Steam, and it crashes right there, as I do not have steam.

 

How can I circumvent this, please?

Rage doesn't require Steam, it'll work on the disc version.

Well, F4 and F12 (I had set it to F12 to try another key) does not do a thing, neither does heading to a police station?

 

Then again, I downloaded a 40MB mod, can't be what I need, correct?

Does the game seem to pause when you hit the key for the RPH Console?

If it is, it's working, you just cant see it.

When RPH is loading (Before GTA V launches) click on the cog on the left side to go into your settings

Go to Game Settings
Check "Force Windowed Mode"
Save and Launch
Try opening your RPH console now, it should now be visible and working.

But I think, I do not have the base file, unsure of this.

40MB seems to be very small.

RPH is only a 8MB download, give or take.
It's not a very large file.
