I initially thought that it's a Dodge Charger SRT-8 but it's the default buffalo. Nice job

Ekalb, big fan of your work (since they're lore friendly and the model collisions actually -work- on your cars)

 

Could you look at that Enhanced Vapid Vector Cruiser you just uploaded? There's something wrong with the headlights/rearlights that causes the game to crash when shot at. (I feel like it might be the indicator section you added since no other car has that)

 

I know it's unlocked but I have little to no skill or knowledge to even begin going around doing it. And it crashes both with and without the Strobes mod.

 

Otherwise your car is absolutely perfect and just what I've been searching so long for.

Jumped right into testing after seeing your message here edga, and looked again at DLer's suggestions of crashing after the windows were shot out

 

Vehicle in the POLICE slot, and shooting with the pistol I did the following:

Shot each window once -> they all cracked as they should

Shot each window 3-4 times -> they all smashed (except for front windscreen which is a lot stronger)

Shot each lightbar dome -> they all smashed as they should

Shot rear indicators -> they smashed but will smash with the breaklight, i don't think you can shoot them individually

Shot front indicators and headlights -> they smashed with one bullet as they should.

This was with and without the strobes mod activated

 

I didn't experience any crashes during the whole process. 

 

Are these once-off occurences or are you able to consistently do the same thing and get the same result (crash)?

Oh wow thanks for the really prompt response. I did a little more testing, with my other police vehicles and abusing them through pursuits and drive bys, and they have yet to cause anything.

 

With your Cruiser I let it spawn naturally through wanted level NPCs and got into a little chase. Colliding with them and destroying lights seems to have no problem, and I shot out a few lights myself with no issue.

 

Once I got in the Cruiser however, it crashed in about 20 seconds, possibly from being shot in a certain area, but my camera view didn't show much before the screen went black. I only accused your model of such heresy because it always seems to be involved somewhat when it crashes, so I don't know yet if it happens only when I drive it, or just in general

 

I really hope it's actually something that can be fixed and not some weird SparkIV/OpenIV file hiccup. I'll keep playing around with different scenarios so I don't lead you on some wild goose chase.

 

edit: after playing around some more, it's back to crashing when shot at. The lights can be destroyed by crashing with no problem, but once I aim and press the mouse to shoot, it crashes. (aimed at the rear tail light)

It doesn't, since I've used your slicktop one, Lt. Caine's from GPM, and right now I use AP_459's (with impenetrable windows).

 

I'm assuming though if no one else is having a real problem with it then it might be an isolated incident with my install, which at best is unfortunate.

I just want a multi livery non els vapid vector with things that break. D:

 

edit: a fresh redownload and import of your police model, shooting the lights with a shotgun doesn't crash the game, but with a pistol does.

Hm, still having trouble replicating. I was shooting back with a D-Eagle, mp5 and the mini uzi and managed to smash everything in pursuing copcars with no crash. Not sure what to do, if there is anything I can do that is. 

It looks like I'm SOL then. It works without Strobes for some reason, but that mod is too awesome to give up.

 

Even with the scripthook, strobes, and car reinstalled, rechecked the vehicles.ide and handling.dat, nothing solved it, but I'll keep the model around since it's still pretty effing awesome and maybe it'll fix itself one day.

 

Thanks again for responding so well and looking into it! And sorry for leading you on a wild goose chase haha. I still look forward to all your vanilla car mods, for those are the coolest ones (and non ELS so my computer doesn't die yet)

 

 

Hi! Thanks again for all the job you did, but

 

I've just installed the stealth Vincent and encountered a weird thing with emergency lights... The always rotate. Screens show it all. Frankly, I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the car itself, but I have no idea what could cause it. I also use black-and-white cruiser, and its front lights work as supposed. The only reason I post it here is just this happened only with Vincent, all other cars I used were OK...

It's because you've got it installed as police, police2 or police3, which are hard-coded in the game to have the siren objects rotate (usually this is used for rotators in lightbars). The fix is simply to move the car to a different slot. 

 

If you desperate need it to function properly in one of those slots I'll see if I can put a version together that will prevent that. 

Wow. I wouldn't figure that out myself for sure... Thanks for your offer! I really like to have it as a police car - unmarked patrols look very cool. So, if there's not too much trouble for you, I would appreciate if you help me with it!

Well this should be a stealthy-unmarked-interceptor-y type vehicle, based off the unmarked vapid in GTAV. I'll do one version optimised for fbi and another optimised for noose. If you can think of any appropriate liveries that'd be awesome.
