Cincinnati Metropolitan Project

Featured Replies

It's been almost 1 week into my LSPDFR journey and I've learned a lot. I've started working on an LSPDFR Cincinnati Metropolitan project. Currently, all in game LSPD vehicles, with the exception of the LSPD Police Transport, and the LSPD Police Bike, have been replaced with ELS vehicles, and updated with 4K textures by t0y.

Current city themed cars are as follows: Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor 2011, Ford Police Interceptor SUV 2016, and the Dodge Charger 2012 (taking the place of the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan, due to the vehicle in the link on t0y texture page being removed. The Ford would be more of an authentic choice.).

The best 4K working texture that I could find for one of my current Sheriff cars, the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor 2011, was the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Ohio Texture Pack 1.0.0 by Turpino. Obviously, the textures will need to be edited eventually to display Hamilton County on the Sheriff car's, as well as, the city car's displaying Cincinnati, but for now I'm just trying to get a fully working, Cincinnati Metropolitan simulator.

Here's an issue that I am trying to get information on. I'm having difficulty locating the original SAHP car. I've went through all patchday folder's and can not locate it with OpenIV and the list below doesn't give a location for it.

  • fbi (unmarked Bravado Buffalo 1st Gen)

  • fbi2 (unmarked Declasse Granger)

  • police (LSPD Vapid Stanier 2nd Gen)

  • police2 (LSPD Bravado Buffalo 1st Gen)

  • police3 (LSPD Vapid Interceptor)

  • police4 (unmarked Vapid Stanier 2nd Gen)

  • policeb (LSPD police bike)

  • policet (LSPD police transport)

  • policeold1 (North Yankton Declasse Rancher)

  • policeold2 (North Yankton Albany Esperanto)

  • pranger (Park Ranger Declasse Granger)

  • riot (LSPD/NOoSE Riot)

  • sheriff (LSSD Vapid Stanier 2nd Gen)

  • sheriff2 (LSSD Declasse Granger)

When I installed the 2016 Dodge Charger Ohio State Highway Patrol 0.9 car by Communist Beach Party, it occupied a spot in my patchday3ng folder, which is now reserved for a city of Cincinnati car.

Here's how I want the simulator to be setup, when I call for a local unit, Cincinnati car's respond (they do), when I call for a state unit, Ohio State Highway Patrol car's respond (currently, only motorcycle unit's in a Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper uniform responds as no SAHP car is present). It is possible that I might have accidentally removed the SAHP car.

To recap, I know this is location based, but I'm trying to set it up so that, if your patrolling in the city as a Cincinnati unit for example, requesting local units will prompt a response of Cincinnati unit's (which it does!). Requesting state units will prompt a response of units driving the Ohio State Highway Patrol Dodge Charger. When driving outside of the city limits, Hamilton County Sheriff Office units will be encountered (Not tested as of yet, but the car is installed for testing). Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should proceed with trying to located the original file location for the SAHP car and setting the game up for the Ohio State Highway Patrol Dodge Charger to respond for all State run's?

Please note, all car files with updated textures will be extracted from the GTA 5 directory is saved. I'm willing to share these files. Just PM me and we will figure something out. Thanks!.

By default, LSPDFR uses police4 and policeb for state patrol response. You can change this in backup.xml, located in the LSPDFR folder in your GTA directory.

Thanks. That's good to know. I think it no longer exist in my directory as I can not locate police4. Does it go in the patchday3ng folder with the other in game police vehicles?

Thanks for advising me as to where I change that in the games code. The Dodge Charger that I currently have for the Ohio State Highway Patrol, advises in the documentation that it is not optimized for the police4 slot, I do believe that it's optimized for the spot occupied by the slots for the city of Cincinnati car's. It was in the police3 spot when I was playing LSPDR as the Ohio State Highway Patrol, but that spot is now reserved for city patrol cars.

I won't be doing any game editing until this Wednesday and/or Thursday. I need to replace the remaining Sheriff in game vehicle with a FPIU with Ohio Sheriff textures, or in the event that I encounter problem with that car in that slot, the same Ohio Sheriff FCVPI in both slots. In reference to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Dodge Charger that's not optimized for police4, what problems if any, do you think I might encounter by placing the car into the police4 slot and should I start searching for a replacement Dodge Charger with Ohio State Highway Patrol that's optimized for police4 slot?

I don't know where the default location is, but I recommend putting all car mods in the latest patchday, just to have everything bundled together.

The main issue is presumably handling being off, so you'll possibly have to do some vehicles.meta editing. I think there's a tutorial on that somewhere, as I currently don't have time to explain that process.

Thanks. I completely understand. I have a bunch of things that I need to get done today. I'll research it!. I've been installing most of the car's in the slots inside the original patchday folder that the files where located. I'll keep the latests patchday folder in mind.

Editing on the Cincinnati Police Dodge Charger 2014 is almost complete. I don't recall who's vehicle this belongs to, I'll have to check my files, but whoever it belongs to, thanks.

I hope you don't mind ModHD as I did some minor editing to your original skin in the pack for the Dodge Charger to reposition text and add a City of Cincinnati logo on the back of the car for more realism. Hours of cut and paste work on the skin and she's amazing!.

What follows is the most realistic LSPDFR Cincinnati Police Dodge Charger skin that's currently available to the LSPDFR community!. Special thanks to ModHD who without your help and support in creating a pack that I could edit, this car skin would not exist.

This Cincinnati Police Dodge Charger skin is still a work in progress.

Ohio State Trooper. I don't recall who's file this belongs to. I'm still having issues getting Troopers to wear their campaign hats. I might be missing something.

I have completed editing on the Cincinnati Dodge Charger skin. Unfortunately, I was unable to place the vehicles equipment numbers on the front side panels of the car. Not every Cincinnati Dodge Charger has equipment numbers posted on the front side panels. The real life car that this skin is based off, does have equipment numbers on the front side panels of the car so that's something to remember when considering the overall authenticity of this skin.

Regardless, this is the most realistic Cincinnati Police Skin for the Dodge Charger that has been created. I spoke with ModHD yesterday, we have agreed to load these skins on LSPDFR as a collaboration, once I've finished editing them.

Changes made to this skin:

Rearranged textures and added city logo to the back of the car.

Updated DUI plate to current plate.

Placed T on the trunk to indicate that this car is issued to Traffic Enforcement.

Changed text colors to the color currently used on the cars.

Updated equipment number to the real life car that this skin is based off.

Please check back often for updates on the next skin. Included in this post is a video of equipment # 12304 in LSPDFR. Thank you HDgamerzPC for this car.

Initial work on equipment # 16331, Cincinnati District 3 Ford Police Interceptor Utility skin has began. I'm not happy with how the City of Cincinnati logo turned out on the back of the car. No matter how I size the logo or position it, I can not get a realistic fit, as the logo is on the real cars. I think the the Ford logo on my FPIU might be a bit oversized. I've posted a photo of the rear of a real Cincinnati FPIU as a reference. While I'm striving to be realistic as possible, I'm limited to my skills and available software, and there will be discrepancies that will take away from the realism of these skins. Nonetheless, at present date and time, they will still be the most realistic Cincinnati Police skins currently available to the LSPDFR community at the time of their upload which I expect will happen in the next 2 to 3 weeks.

Changes made so far:

Repositioned textures on both doors and changed text color to the correct color currently used by the city.

Placed City of Cincinnati logo on the rear of the car.

Moving forward I expect to have this skin finished up in the next two day's, then I'll move onto equipment # 12317.
