Just did a clean install...  but

 

I keep going into the config and trying to assign F3 to the Console. But for some reason, it doesn't want to save. I checked the RageHook ini file and it shows F3 as the assigned key. But when I start the game, it keeps going back to F4.

 

So frustrating...

When you launch Rage and the splash screen opens, click the gear icon in the lower left.  When Rage's settings open, what does it show for the console key?

I don't believe you can change the RPH console key.  Not sure why they give you the option to.

I was able to before. I use a Trainer that is assigned to F4 already. 

 

I'm gonna remove the Enhanced Trainer and see what it does.

I'm not entirely sure.  I thought you could change it, but I never have needed to.

I am having the same issue. The console key can be changed, I change it to F6 as F4 is for the native trainer. Would appreciate it if anyone could tell us a fix for this.

But I was able to change it before. Did the Rage update change this? I don't use the Native Trainer. I use the Enhanced Trainer.

I don't know if it changed it. When I change the key to F6, I press 'Save and launch'. The game starts up but the console is still bound to F4. Don't know if this is a bug or if it's something that they don't want us changing. I'm going for bug, don't see why they wouldn't want us changing it.

Yeah, it's a bug unless they intended for it to be this way. I changed it multiple times. I used F3 for the console and F4 for the Enhanced Trainer. But now, it is still bound to F4 no matter what I do. Even the config ini file will reflect my change to F3 but the game won't reflect the change. so it's a bug until I see otherwise that it was intended.

I just encoutered the same problem but I found a fix on my own. In your GTA Folder, there is a configuration file called "RagePluginHook.ini". If you open this file with your preferred editor, you can see a variable called 'ConsoleKey'. Just change the value to the key you want, so for F3 it would be this: ConsoleKey=F3. Save it and start RagePluginHook. It will work now, so it did for me. Kind regards, Tobias.
