Hi people!

I'm working on a car and tested it out in game, I have made it up to L3 But it crashes in game I got a memory error.

Now I was thinkin if there was a way that I can make the L0Ds to L1 or L0 and the car won't dissapear in disstance.

So if you know how put it here below or message me!

Keep your lods and under your base node (for example police) go under user properties and change the Base entry to something higher....for example if it was 25 change it to 50. Re-export and test. If it keeps crashing change it to something higher until GTA V doesn't crash.

Ok I will try this out, Can I do this, when my LODs are up to L1?

You mean with use properties user defined, right?

 

Don't ever do that. LODs to L4 is what you should do. If you're getting crashes, try isolating the parent node, ie. police_hi or whatever and going into user defined properties. There will be a base node with a value like, 30, 10. Change the value to maybe 35. If that doesn't work. Go up in small numbers.

Also make sure your LODs aren't just copies. Each LOD should have a significant reduction in polygon count. Say L0 is 70k, L1 should be 40k, L2, 20k, L3, 10k, and L4 500. You can get and L4 model from a similar shaped default model. Never just do L0 or one LOD and edit the game to always use that one LOD. That's a horrible practice and should never be done.
