I was trying to install new weapons sounds when  I must have deleted weapons.ivaud.

 

SparkIV won't let me add the file.

 

How can I fix this?

 

Will verifying game files get rid of mods?

verify your game caches, use a backup or reinstall your game. that's the only way to get it back. And yes, verifying your game cache will get rid of your mods.

Will it get rid of things like road mods. Like I had a UK road mod, will it get rid of that.

verifying your game cache will scan your files, and because they're edited they'll be replaced with vanilla files.. So yes, any mods you have installed will be removed. the only things that wont be removed are script mods since they haven't altered anything. 

 

anything that alters files (like vehicle mods, sound mods, road mods etc.) gets removed. 

Steam downloaded the files, but says content file locked, and I can't launch GTA IV.

figured out what it was, avast blocked gtaiv.exe being downloaded. now works, i think. 

It now won't launch past social club

Just redownload the game man. Thats the easiest fix for every issue. Sorry to be harsh but it works.

well it doesn't because exactly the same thing happens

Installed dsound.dll instead of xliveless and it worked. Fingers crossed I'll be able to get lcpdfr up and running.
