Addon Vehicle Plate Check

Featured Replies

Hi Guys (and Gals),

Not sure if this is the right place or not to post this but it is sort of and LSPDFR issue I have. I am slowly adding a British car DLC pack for my own personal use, this pack replaces the game cars with its british counterparts, the idea behind it is that I will be able to identify wanted cars more easily while on patrol. Anyway everything is going great and the cars spawn in traffic with no issues except for one small problem. If I add a car to the vanilla cars section and do a plate check I get the car name come up (filename) but when I do a plate check for the same car added in my created dlc section I can only get the hash value and not the name. Have spent days trying to figure it out with no luck, added the hash values to global which makes no difference. Now I could just add all the cars to the vanilla location which would be problem solved but it is now bugging me as to why I can't get it to work, plus by having the cars in my own dlc pack I can effectively turn them on or off as I see fit.

Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Just to verify, your title says addon vehicle.  You mean replacement, right? None are addon (standalone) cars?

When you say "add a car to the vanilla cars section", what section are you referring to?

I do actually mean addon, these cars do not replace vanilla cars but are an addition to the GTAV game. What I mean by vanilla location is x64e.rpf > levels > gta5>vehicles.rpf. if I put the files there and do a plate check it comes back with the filename of the car.

If I put them in my dlc pack that I have made which is    update>x64>dlcpacks>ukcars>dlc.rpf>x64>vehicles.rpf then the plate checker only comes back with the hash value of the car and not the file name, as I said I have tried adding the values to the language file in the normal manner but it still does not help...

You mean dlc / x64 / levels / gta 5 / vehicles, right?  You don't just mean dlc / x64 / vehicles?  Just want to make sure you have the location right.

I have actually tried various different paths and the result is the same, if I try a plate check on a car that is not in one of the default vanilla locations such as

update / x64 /  dlcpacks / patchday3ng / dlc.rpf / x64 / levels / gta5 / vehicles or any other such path that you would find vanilla cars then all I get is the has value instead of the file name. When you get in one of the addon cars it tells you the vehicle make and model as it should, also if you run the plate with the default computer it also gives the filename, however not when using computer+. But as soon as I take the addon car out of the vanilla location and add it to its own dlc all I get is the hash value, no matter what path I use for the dlc and I have tried many of the last week or so.

I've only installed standalone police/military vehicles, so I can't really offer a lot of insight to your particular issue.  Make sure all the files for the vehicle are in the same section or same DLC.  For example, if the vehicle files are in the DLC folder, the meta and carvar should be as well.

Thanks, yes it is a strange one, I have spend over 30 hours trying to figure it out, I am wondering if I could create at second vehicles.rpf within the vanilla section as long as I enable the file in content.xml

Actually come to think of it I have noticed some vanilla cars also coming up as just the hash code when you do a plate check... Anyone else noticed this?
