Engine Wont Shut Off

Hello all,

 

I have been searching for the past couple of days for a solution to this problem and another I'm having with no luck.

 

I can not for the life of me get the engine in my car to stay off.  I've tried the engine off/on option in TrainerV as well as the same option using the add-on morecontrolIV.  The engine will shut off for a split second then come right back on after.  This is driving me up a wall as I can't figure out what particular mod is doing it.  I'm hoping someone else has had this issue and know what mod causes this and a possible fix.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

My second problem is that the running/brake lights are always lit when driving.  This happens with all vehicles, even if the headlights are off or if I am in blackout mode.  I though it was an issue with radianceV but I have adjusted all the setting having to do with the rear lights and nothing seems to change their brightness.  I am using VisualV, RadianceV, and ELS, this is all that I can think of that might be effecting this light.  On an interesting note, when I first spawn a car and all the lights are off, the rear running lights aren't on.  Also, when I am code 3 the rear lights flash like normal.

1) Please list all the plugins you currently use.  If the engine always comes back on, then something is conflicting.

 

2) My guess is that RadianceV and VisualV are conflicting.    There is a bug with some ELS models that has has the headlights constantly on and bright, or LEDs lit the entire time when they shouldn't be, but your particular issue is a new one.

Even if you did already, please double check all the trainers you use. Make sure "engine always on" is not enabled.

I just did a bit of testing, the rear lights turn off just fine if I have ELS disabled, though still bright as hell when they are on.  However, the engine problem only happens after I go on duty.

Unfortunately, the light issue is going to be an ELS thing.  Nothing you can really do.  The model author would have to go in and fix it.  Happens to me, too, hate it. 

 

What plugins do you have in your LSPDFR (plugins-->LSPDFR) folder?

To my immediate knowledge, none of those plugins even have a purpose relating to your vehicle's engine.  Admittingly, I never turn off my engine, not even for bait cars, so I don't know if this is a thing for me as well, or just something on your end.  I'm heading off to bed, but tomorrow I'll hop in game and test it out to see.  I pretty much have all the plugins you do except police smart radio and repeat offender.

Thank you for trying to help and I'll check for your replies tomorrow.  I'm going to attempt some more troubleshooting for a bit and see if I can track it down.

Also I tried the bait car plugin yesterday and it crashed my game when I tried to bring up the menu.  It looks awesome, might try to get it working in the next few days.

If you get into your vehicle while on duty, and press N, where you can disable callouts, there's an option in there for Vehicle Engine, and by default is set to "Always on"
