Rage Plugin Hook Icon Does Nothing

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am truly at a loss.  I've been playing lspdfr for about a year now and am fairly comfortable with modding and have had to do a fresh re-install couple times.  I'm currently running the steam version of GTA V.  About a week ago my game was working fine, however one day Rage Plugin Hook would simply just not launch.  Literally nothing happens when I click the icon except for a brief hourglass and that's it.  It does show up on task manager for a moment as well.  I have tried both the shortcut on my desktop as well as the icon in my GTA V root directory.  I have also tried everything else imaginable (thanks to much help from Albo's video) including.

Fresh and complete reinstall of GTAV, LSPDFR, and RAGE (and Open IV)

Disabled antivirus/firewall

Reinstalled Microsoft .Net framework, Visual C++, and Visual C++ for visual studio

Downloaded updated SciptHook.dll. NativeUI

Clicked Run as Administrator

Many other things....

The only thing that I can think of that changed on my computer was I installed a new router.  I did however even go back to the old router to eliminate that as an issue.  I really don;t know what else to do at this point.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.  I did follow FirstThirtyMinutes instructions when I installed.  Still nothing.  I appreciate the suggestion.

Go to the RagePluginHook Settings ---> Game settings ---> Command line switches check "Force DirectX11".

Thank you.  Can you tell me how to get to the settings?  Do you mean after it starts to load?  If so, I don't even get to that point.  Nothing literally happens when I double click the icon.

Do you have all the requirements needed?    http://ragepluginhook.net/Requirements.aspx

Also download and run this troubleshooter, see what it says.

Unfortunately, I have no clue what that means.  Also, what kind of computer are you on?

I have an HP AMD Athalon II 630 x4 2.8ghz, 6gb ram, Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 TI

I know it's not the best , but it has been running the game fine for a year.

I would do a complete reinstall of LSPDFR and Rage.  Something vital is missing, but I haven't seen that error before.

Yep...I re downloaded all requirements too...

I'm assuming you're running Windows 7? Or am I wrong?

The error you are receiving is basically saying .NET 4.0 isn't installed completely, or perhaps you just have the trimmer client profile. This really shouldn't happen, unless you have something wrong with your operating system. Windows 7 didn't come with .NET 4.0 but was deployed later via Windows Update.

I would try and run https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=17718

and see what happens.

This will probably not be resolved by reinstalling GTA/RPH.
