Make sure you have entered +livery at the end of the vehicles.ide to get the skins to change, and do you have ELS installed?

The lights are probably the ELS lights. as they are considered EXTRA PARTS in the game, they randomly spawn on AI's

No problem. There once was a fix to turn those off with in a certain distance of your squad...els fix...made by....DRUM ROLL...the same guys that made LCPDFR!!!! dunno what has become of it...but i have v1 of it

So i have to add +livery at the end of "each" vehicle ? kinda confused on that ? how do i get to that and do i have to use the Sparkiv to edit that ?

no just go to the common->data folder in your iv or eflc install, locate vehicles.ide, open in notepad, locate the cars, add +livery at the end of the line

example police, police, car, POLICE, POLICE, VEH@STD, VEH@STD_RI1, 100, 999, 0.2345, 0.2345, 0.2, 2, 1.0 ,1, ext_requi+ext_strong+livery

And save, if you get an access denied error there's a way to fix it, but i'll give ya that secret if you have that problem

in game i hit alt p then went to the police station got into uniform but when i went to pick a patrol car it started with one in sight but i tried to scroll to veiw the next one and seems the game froze with my officer standing there with no car? any ideas?

If you want other paint jobs to appear on cars, just the ones you want them on, I found in my experience, the more you have +livery on ..the more the game hogs memory

so to add multiple paintjobs on just a single car of my choice i would replace the "wtd" file or whatever for each paint and add + livery for each paint? if thats wrong would you mind giving me a step by step instruct?

Also................

After i try to add (+livery) to the Vehicle,ide folder and try to save and close it tells me this - Cannot create the C:Program Files(x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVcommondatavehicles.ide file.

Make sure that the path and file name are correct , I press ok , then it brings me to the "save as" decision , so i leave it as "Vehicles" then i hit save and it asks if i want to replace "Vehicles,ide" . I choose yes and it tells me this -"Vehicles" This file is set to read only , Try again with a different file name .... So should i change the name ????

disable the read only part of the vehicles ide, by right clicking on file then properties

then uncheck read only than try to add +livery again then just save that's it.

do not change name just uncheck read only for any file u plan to edit that's it

I have a question , when in game and i press 7 on the numpad to spawn a police car , y does game have a "Fatal Error" and crash when i press7 again? but just before it crashes i see another police car spawn ? Is there somthing i'm missing or doing wrong ?
