Are you using a mods folder? All of my replacement cars are in the latest patchday and work flawlessly.  Make sure in ASI manager you have ASI loader installed.

Also make sure after you drag and drop the replacement files, you click "edit mode" again.  This verifies the change.

If nothing else, please provide full screenshots of your vehicles.rpf that you're changing.  Double click the .yft of the car you've replaced and take a screenshot of the car viewer so we can verify it is the right car.

 Here are the pictures....

The files go in the very latest patchday that has a vehicles.rpf.  The reason some car files still say "patchday 3" is because in the past, previous patchdays worked.  They don't anymore.  So you should be fine as long as you don't have a patchday above 14.

When you double click on the .yfts that you've replaced the vehicles of, does it show the replaced car, or the GTA V vanilla?  If it shows the replaced, this means that somewhere the vanilla files are still overriding the mods folder, which shouldn't be the case.

My first suggestion is to roam through the previous patchdays in your mods folder and remove other files of the same name.  This way, you will only have one set of .ytd, .yft, and_hi.yft for that car slot.

If nothing else is working, then yes, redo your mods folder.  I just replaced a vehicle yesterday and all was well.

I must be stupid because I did that and still didn't work. Of course the vehicles that have automatic install works but yeah its auto and not  manual..
