Templating / UV Mapping

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of an English language GTA 5 UV Mapping tutorial? I've seen a whole bunch of french ones and tried to follow along visually but it's really just not feasable. I've been trying forever to UV Map the Albany Primo and while I've made progress I think I'm at a point that I just need someone to help me.

I have a few videos where you can watch me do it. There is no narrating as I just listen to music but below is the one on my YouTube. It hasn't been edited so sometimes you'll see me just stop because I had to do something real quick or you'll see me flip through screens to change songs and finally you'll see me troubleshooting why the vehicle is crashing my game (I get it at the end finally). The crash wasn't related to the template so don't worry about that part.

If you ever catch me online streaming I'm usually building something and sooner or later start to template it.

How should I set up the material to map onto?

Just copy the material that is already being used for the paint job. It should be easy to find and usually says vehicle_smallspecmap_ [PAINT1]. Make sure that is setup to a "Paint 3" type of material. Then within the material ZModeler should have it setup for you. All you have to change is the first one to that should be vehicle specmap to uv manual 2. Then on the next line down select the template file.
