So below is an example of a vehicle I currently use in my polpatriot slot. On gtapolicemods the text reads optimized for polpatriot but on his readme it says fbi buffalo which I'm expecting to be a mistake. Anyway I made this thread for the question of what does it mean for a vehicle to be optimized for a certain type. Does that mean it won't work if you rename it? What do you have to do to make it work if you rename it?

I've noticed that using polpatriot optimized vehicles don't work well in other slots. More crashes. I have two optimized for polpatriot cars that I wish to use but obviously don't have two polpatriot slots and when I rename one to fbi and keep one polpatriot it crashes. however if i only have one on at a time in the polpatriot slot no crashing. Why?

This isn't intended as support more or less to understand what people mean by optimized for a certain vehicle type. I've seen some cvpi that have multiple (police 1, 2, noose, fbi) just rename and go.

You can put any vehicle in any vehicle slot, but it needs to be replaced the the car's name you're replacing.

You want to put a Tahoe in fbi's place, then rename polpatriot to FBI.

You might have to change a file in cargroups.dat or something and make sure the FBI is in the trucks category.

I've never changed a cargroups.dat file before. Could that be a possibility why a truck in an fbi slot is causing crashing?

-Grab original vehicles.ide for polpatriot and from 4th value onwards,replace the line.

-Get Sgt.Kanyo's handling line for the vehicle and replace it in the handling.dat line

-Install your model.

Carbon E7 in annihilator slot

Ford Escape in Predator slot
