It started crashing during startup since last night

Featured Replies

Since last night RPH started to crash on me during startup, when it says "Loading and populating game world", so that means that most likely no plugin or script is doing this, but perhaps some mod that I installed with OpenIV, right? Well, since last night without checking if the game works I have installed a few mods with OpenIV:

1. LSPD Pack (cars)

2. Sheriff & FIB Replacement Pack (cars, two installers)

3. Euphoria Ragdoll Overhaul

This is my whole list of mods/scripts/plugins:

Spoiler

[*] Core Mods:

+ LSPDFR
+ RAGE Plugin Hook
+ Script Hook V
+ Script Hook V Dot Net

[*] Scripts/Plugins:

+ AI Police Pursuit Disabler
+ Arrest Manager
+ Auto Center Steering
+ Better EMS
+ Computer+
+ Foot Pursuit Aid
+ Keep Calm
+ Keep The F*****g Doors Opened
+ LSPDFR+
+ Overlay Away
+ Player Location Display
+ Police Radio
+ Pursuit Deterrence
+ Search Warrant
+ Simple Trainer
+ Snow Mod
+ Spike Strips
+ Traffic Control
+ Traffic Policer

[*] Callouts (note: some plugins above may have callouts implemented into them):

+ Assorted Callouts
+ Code 3 Callouts
+ LPCallouts
+ PeterU Callouts
+ Wilderness Callouts

[*] Vehicle Mods:

+ LSPD Pack
+ Sheriff & FIB Replacement Pack

[*] Physics/Graphics/Sounds improving Mods:

+ Euphoria Ragdoll Overhaul
+ LSPD COP M
+ Realistic Driving V
+ Weapon Sounds Overhaul
+ Visual V

What should I do?

Edit: YEP, I have renamed mods folder (because all OpenIV mods went there) and it works now so I guess one of those 3 mods must be causing problems and for some reason I'm leaning towards cars packs, but I will delete the ERO first. There's just a small problem that IDK how to do this xD.

Okay IDK how to uninstall this mod so I will just re-install all my OpenIV mods, without these new mods and then check if the game works, and see if the car mods crash the game, if not, then I will never install the ERO mod (Euphoria mod).

I think I know now what the problem is... Custom cars don't go well with Realistic Driving V, althugh the readme for RDV says:

Step 2: Mod order!

-Large mod compilations (eg. Redux) and other large game modifications need to be installed BEFORE this mod

-Visual mods (VisualV, shader mods, texture mods) can be installed at ANY TIME
-Vehicle ADD-ONs (eg. IVPack) can be installed at ANY TIME
-custom car models (replacing original cars) need to be added MANUALLY to handling.meta, AFTER installing this mod

So I guess it is somehow possible to have those car packs and use realistic driving? I am so confused.

Okay it looks like I can't have custom cars :(. I have deleted everything from mods folder, and isntalled only the first car pack and it crashes the same way so it's the custom cars that are causing this, I have unsinstalled them and installed the rest of my Open IV mods and they work perfectly, so WHY CAN'T I HAVE CUSTOM CARS?

Try using the gameconfig linked in my signature.  Also make sure you're using a DLC (such as mpchristmas2) for the standalone cars.

Oh wow so I only needed to get this file to make it work? And what does this file contain? game configuration, like graphic settings, keyboard mapping, etc? Will it overwrite such things that I may set myself or not? Because IDK if I should make pictures of my current settings ;).

Also what do you mean by: " Also make sure you're using a DLC (such as mpchristmas2) for the standalone cars. " I don't get it.

The gameconfig doesn't control graphics or controls.  The main thing it does is modify how many standalone cars you have.

I mean, in OpenIV, the DLCs are the best place to put the files for standalone cars.  Check this topic out -

Hmmm I understand. Well the car packs I use have automatic package installers for OIV so I can't really control them but if I remember correctly, they do indeed create "dlc" folder inside "mods" folder so I guess they made it to work like that. These are the car packs I got:

They look crazy good so I will now go, and try to make this all work ;]. Also, should I put the gameconfig file into the mods folder too or into the main folder?

Them having their own DLC folder is always a good thing, since you know where the mod is.  No, the gameconfig goes (in OpenIV) Mods-->update-->update-->common-->data

Perfect! Works like a charm :D. Now I am out of "likes" but I will come here later to thank you this way for your help, not the first time :D. Also, you have to spawn vehicles such as POLICE5,6,7 with a trainer right?

Ha ha, you're welcome!

Yes, you will need a trainer.  I recommend Simple Trainer - https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/simple-trainer-for-gtav

Also, if you want to see backup utilizing these cars, in your GTA V directory, go into LSPDFR, and open the Backup XML.  You can add these cars so they will respond.
