Recent FPS Drop

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I've noticed recently that when I go on duty I'll get some FPS drops especially through heavier built up areas. GTA V on it's own (launched via RPH or not) is totally fine. It only after I 'ForceDuty' via console. My game usually runs at a capped 60fps but this lag causes it to drop to about 50-55 at some points. The fact that it only happens whilst on duty leads me to believe that it is a plugin but according to Update Checker everything is fine.

I'm just wondering if anybody else is experiencing this random and very sudden change in performance? Worst comes to worst I'll do a complete mods folder clear and start from scratch.

Thanks

Have you changed anything recently with your plugins?  How big is your LSPDFR (plugins-->LSPDFR) folder?

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

You can blame Rockstar for this, increased anti-cheat has meant that natives take longer and longer to complete. This negatively affects performance and really can't be fixed.

Hmm, even so I wouldn't expect this much of a performance hit. I'm running an i7 6700k with a GTX 1070 and 16GB ram. Might have to cull some callouts

Regardless of your machine, heavily modding a game is going to put some strain on the game itself.  On my old rig, my best FPS was 30.  On this, I get a solid 70fps.  My LSPDFR plugin folder is only 29.1.

What Ararial said, things like the police putting their weapons away are all natives. The longer they take, the more time the CPU spends per native. This would also negatively affect any CPU, even something like a 6950X

Just an update - I deleted all my plugins and reinstalled them again and it seems to have fixed the issue. Back to silky smooth 60fps constantly

Well, at least it's working lol

Must have been a plugin in there somewhere that was perhaps out dated
