Change light colors?

Featured Replies

I recently downloaded an all-blue car that did not come with the option for red-red or red-blue. How do I make it a red-blue setup? I understand there are textures involved but actually getting them is the confusing part.

I don't understand the point of signatures on this site. What the fuck is the point?

Open the .ytd in OpenIV. Look for the following:  Emergelights, Emergelights_D, and other emergelights.   Basically all the images that have emergency lighting that need changed.   Click on the one you want and hit "export texture".  Export it as a PNG.  Then upload in Photoshop or Paint and change the blue that you want to be red.

Change the color, save, and add it back in OpenIV. I STRONGLY advise keeping a backup .ytd of the car in case you mess up or just don't like the color.

Did that; nothing changed.

Explore the .ytd in OpenIV. Look for any blue lighting.  I've attached some pictures as examples.  Note: these are ones I've edited already to make all blue.

Now, in terms of changing color, I did mine in a very crude way just because I suck at being detailed.

I did the same thing with red.

Search in the ytd again.  I'm even having trouble trying to change one of my cars to all blue because I haven't found the right file. But I have changed one of my cars lights to all green, so it is do-able. Any blue light you find, change to red that you want red.
