Hi - First of all, thanks for a great forum. 

 

I'm very new to all this LFPDFR, but i like it allready so much. I am trying to install som other cars to the game, and trying to understand how to change a cars place.

 

Example, i want this mod: 

But it uses police 3's space, and thats not cool, because there is a ton of them on duty then, therefore i wan't to replace it with the FBI vehicles, i have understand, that i have to change the filenames to FBI, and with succes, now i can spawn the car, but the ELS sirenes, dont work and the car is having some of the emergency lights lit. 

 

Can someone explain a noob how this is done? :)

 

Do you at least have ELS installed? This model requires the ELS mod for the lights to work properly.

Yes, i do. 

The car works like a charm on the POLICE3 slot, when i just drag and drop it from the zipfiles :)

You've to rename the ELS config file as well, or change it accordingly. If the car was designed to be in the police3 slot, every file or line where it says police3 should be changed to the name of the slot you want the car in.

Is this a file i should find with the Carmod, i don't seem to locate it in the CLA mod?

That model apparently is lacking an ELS config file, so you might want to ask directly the author about that.

Allright... But thanks for the help :) But, why does it work perfect on the Police3 spot then?

thats what the modder put it as. but you can change it to whatever you want. so basically you rename it to fbi instead of police3

No, if i for example change it to FBI - It acts strange, as i describe earlyer :)

so you change the els file to fbi too.

 

It may be because i'm not explaining me good enough. The veichle is working just fine, when im not renaming the files, i'm not sure where to find ELS files for the vehicle? Can you help me?

Except that as I said earlier, that particular model DOES NOT have an ELS config file, that's the problem.

Found a solution, it seems that is was ELS making the problem, i require to have an VCF file. I just copy one of the files from Police2 and renamed it FBI - and Voilá, it all worked.
