.50 update issues, LSPDFR not starting

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new to LSPDFR, modding, and PC gaming in general so bear with me and if I omit and info let me know and I'll add it.

I recently got a gaming laptop and wanted to play LSPDFR, so I bought GTA V, downloaded the LSPDFR mod, downloaded the new RagePlugin .50, WINRAR, ScriptHook V, and all the other programs I need to run the game. When I first started Rage, it gave me all green check marks, and it looked like I was good to go. Continued on, and as the game starts up I get an error message saying "insufficient permissions or bad-antivirus" and launches the vanilla game. I have no other mods or games for that matter. I have deleted all the downloads and redownloaded everything twice and I'm still running into the same problem. I've attempted to go to the Rage forums, but their website won't let me create a profile at all. I'll attempt to post a screenshot of my GTA V folder, but no promises it'll actually upload. If anyone has any advice on how to fix this or get it to work please let me know. thank you.

  • Your launching your game while your directory is called "GTAV Modded" for RagePluginHook to run it needs to be called "Grand Theft Auto V"

  • omg!! i hope that's it!! i've looked that folder up and down this whole time and didnt think once to look at the damn folder title :/ sheesh!!

What me and my buddy had to do was roll back to one previous version. which is:  0.49.1041.10069

After that we had no problems. Can get it here

Hope that helps you.

Also be sure the ASI manager is enabled from OpenIV. to do that open OpenIV and go to Tools>ASI Manager and make sure the top two are installed.

Well the fact that I have no idea what OpenIV is could be part of the issues. I've been going by whatever the install guide/youtube videos said so that could be the issue. I tried to just roll back to .49 but I still ran into the error messages. I'll try downloading OpenIV and see if that solves the problem. Thanks for the help because I have no idea what I'm doing lol. I'll keep you updated.

  • Which anti-virus are you using? Is there an option within said program to add Ragepluginhook.exe to a "safe list"?
  • Does vanilla load normally?
  • Try moving d3dcompiler_46.dll & d3dcsx_46.dll to your desktop, then launch Rage.
  • Did you download LSPDFR, then RAGE, then Open IV; in that order?
  • Have you tried re-verifying your game cache? In fact, do you own a Steam or retail copy?
  • Which Windows & DirectX versions are you using? You can check your DX version by going to Start > Windows System > Run > type in dxdiag

I ran into this same problem before and I honestly can't remember how I fixed it. I know it's easier than you think, though. Review the steps I posted and if they don't help, let me know here. I'll check back tomorrow morning and keep working with you on this, if no one else has come to the rescue. Good luck, bud!

#1- I'm not using any anti-virus at all. I never saw the point lol. If I should be using something to make the game work let me know.

#2- Vanilla does open normally. Although within the past 10 minutes Steam was giving me trouble, but I verified the cache and now it's trying to install updates...which is taking way longer than it should, but I'm at work the internet may be sucking lol.

#3- I'll definitely give that a shot once this update is complete.

#4- Yep. Installed everything in the correct order except Open IV. I thought Open IV was just the GTA IV map mod, but if I need it I'll download it.

#5- Yes, I just reverified my game cache. It's trying to install an update now (could that have been part of the problem?), and yes I own the Steam copy of the game lol.

#6- I'm using Windows 10, and I'm using DirectX 12. Not sure if that DirectX12 is a good thing or not. As I said in the original post I'm new to PC gaming lol, so bear with me.

On a personal note I appreciate the help Techengage because I have no idea what I'm doing lol. Once this update finishes I'll try your suggestions and post the results.

[edit] the update is telling me it'll be done in about 6-9 hours lol. So if I don't respond by Saturday just respond to this in case I forget lol; but hopefully I'll respond by at least tomorrow night (I work nights so I'm trying to get all this done at work lol)

So I apologize for being a little late, the update took forever.

So I updated GTA V, created a copy of the game folder, installed (in this order) LSPDFR, RAGE .50, and OpenIV.  Still, got the same error message. Tried moving the files you mentioned directly to my desktop, still got the error message. Everything I've tried I keep getting the same error messages.

Does anybody have any way to fix this because this is really starting to bug me lol.

yep, still the same error message

Ok. What I did - From the Start:

Run GTAV Mod Free both SP and Online - All working Good? Lets move on:

Copy the GTAV Directory ( I name the original one 'GTAV Original' and If I choose to go Online - I change it back and change the modded copy from GTA V to GTA V Mods when not using)

Download both ScriptHook & ScriptHookV.Net and place into your newly copied (modded version) GTAV Folder (Do include Native Trainer that comes with ScriptHook).

Load up GTA V - Press F4 - Do you have the trainer menu come up? Try this and just this for now then get back to us.

the problem is that Rage won't load up, it just loads the normal, unmodded game and shows me this message v.

OK, so go into your directory and right click the RAGE.exe and send it to desktop. Once there set the properties to run the new RAGE desktop shortcut as Administrator. Go back into GTA V and do the same with the GTA V launcher (send to desktop) but don't set to run as Administrator.

Turn all possible background activity off, then double click GTA V launcher, then a few moments later - Right Click the RAGE desktop Shortcut and run this as Administrator.

Try that.

The game runs perfectly fine in unmodded single player and multiplayer.

Downloaded the most recent scripthooks, still got the same error codes. I think it's a Rage issue, but their website won't let me log onto their forums page, so I can't even ask them for help.

Are you getting any logs in your directory?

how can I get to that, I know I did it once and nothing came up, but I'll try it again and take a screenshot

GTAV directory under LOGS, or have you any txt files in there?

I'm scratching my head a lil with this one. If it were me, I would delete all the mods and start again. Firstly ScriptHook then LSPDFR then RAGE.

Is this what youre talking about?

And I've tried deleting everything except the game itself, then redownloading it...didn't work. I even tried using Rage .49 and I got the same error codes. I'm at a loss as to what could be the problem.
