Failed to update the product ( in patch 1.0.7.0. installer )

Featured Replies

Immediately I apologize for their "superior" knowledge of the English language. Recently I installed GTA IV, the Steam version, launched, there is no problem, install the mod, playing does not start. I learned, they say, the patch 1.0.7.0. I need to install and so on, opened the installer, and then an produck update error (even something about the details and the long path to the file), the result is not found nothing. What to do - no idea.

Do you have the same problem, or do I do it?

Hi,

Please make sure your not using a crack, as cracks do not currently support the new update.

PLEASE MAKE A BACK UP OF YOUR FULL GRAND THEFT AUTO INSTALLATION!

-------------------------------------------------

This method has worked for me, it may not for you.

1. Uninstall GTAIV, make sure all traces are gone and the GTAIV install folder is completely empty or has been deleted.

2. Reinstall GTAIV,

3. Download the 1.0.7.0 title update

4. Extract and run UpdateTitle.exe

5. Ensure GTA has been successfully downgraded by right clicking on GTAIV.EXE, going to properties and clicking on Details.

-------------------------------------------------

Please respond if this worked for you, and avoid downloading anything at the moment as the servers are glitched.

:)

Do you have an error code? I did not see this before.

No code, just "Failed to update the product" and long way to files.

If you made a backup of your current GTAIV Installation, then please reinstall GTAIV. Do not do anything after the GTAIV Installation except for the steps below:

Spoiler

1. Download the 1.0.7.0 patch

2. Extract to a file on the desktop

3. Run UpdateTitle.exe

4. Wait for it to patch

5. Go to newly installed GTAIV installation

6. Right click on GTAIV.EXE

7. Go to properties

8. Details

9. Ensure that it is the 1.0.7.0 patch.

If it does not work, then please download gta_registry_repair_2102.rar and follow the steps in the next spoiler.

Spoiler

1. Extract and open the Registry Repair

2. Select your version of GTA IV

3. Click on browse, find your GTAIV Root folder (the folder containing GTAIV.exe)

4. Click 'Add path to registry'

If the second set of instructions do not work, then we will have to try something else.

Please note, G17 Media did not make the program, nor did I. We aren't responsible if anything messes up your computer.

Thank you! I did the registry repair and the patch update worked!
