Vehicle Request Question.

Featured Replies

the reason i made this topic was cause i don't want to spam EVI, Cj24 or anyone else that does model's, how much would a modeler charge for a vehicle request? not just a conversion, but from scratch?

I know. And thats so...illegal.I've used one/two of his Audis. He makes em perfect,but...this is just too much.I first discovered it in his readme.

OFFTOPIC:

Man,my ideal modder for IV is Stiopa. He was one helluva modder.

Nah, charging for modeling from scratch is not illegal, is illegal charging for other people models, btw, there was some time ago a discussion that ended at same way, discusing about if its legal or not.

I have two ideal modders in iv, Malemute and MrBolleck, they make great conversions and most classic vehicles:)

See,if you take into account that by hacking in IV with tools and modding it is breaching the EULA you agree to while installing the game, even making cars from scratch and charging will be illegal. And even according to most modders' policies,GTA communities have always lived on the fact-"Using this model for commercial purposes is forbidden".IMHO,this is wrong. If its that painful for him and he has to sacrifice his job timings for modelling something,he should really quit modding and work for some real company where he'll be paid in good sum for the exact same thing.

Malemute's models always looked faulty to me.Dunno why.And Bolleck has indeed made great mods but too high poly. Also I don't like his habit of writing his name in giant fonts at license plates.I always have to alter the license plates to make it the standard LC ones.

I guess Dhruv makes a point, that would be like "pay for play but i'm going to release it publicly anyway as freeware", don't get me wrong, i have no issue paying a modeler for a model request, since he/she would be giving up his/her time to model it, but pretty much any aspect of vehicle modding, one way or another, someone doesn't like it and think's it should be illegal.

Faulty? ps...

I would pay for some models, since nobody is interested in making them, is just what I said some time ago. If you don't like people to charge for making models, then don't use their mods, or learn modeling an make everybody request. I dunno what to say man, you may be satisfied with the models actually are released, but other people, like me, wants models that unless we learn modeling, which is not a 2 days thing, nobody will make them. So the only way we actually can get these models is by paying.

I don't know who that was directed at, but i ahve no issue paying for a modelers' time since he/she is doing me the favor since i don't know how

It is illegal to force people to pay to use your mods.

Lets think about this.

In order for a game to have real-world cars, the developers need to contact every individual car company and ask to use their vehicles, this costs a TON of money for the license and even then the manufactuers put certain restrictions on the cars.

For instance, it took Driver: San Francisco FIVE YEARS to gain all the proper licensing for the vehicles, and even then, most manufactuers had requests:

All manufactuers DID NOT WANT to see their cars being blown up by explosions (hence the fictional cars being used in cutscene explosions)

Honda refuse to feature in ANY GAME that allows a player to provoke and escape any law enforcement.

By creating models of these vehicles and then charging for them, you are breaking the law. You haven't paid out of your ass for a license from the company to create their car and put it in the game. You are just adding salt to the wound by charging for it.
