so is there any way of keeping 2 copys of gta (clean & modded). Right now i have my modded copy on my primary drive and my clean steam copy on my secondary drive. but every time i try to launch the modded copy it says something along the lines of "this game wasn't stared via steam" and when it does start it fails to hook game. i dont know if its possible. thanks in advance

You need to transfer the copy to the other drive into the Steam GTA V directory.

You can keep both copies of GTAV in your steam directoryjust rename the one you aren't using at the moment.  This is how I have it setup in my steam directory.
