Extreme FPS Drop With Newest Update

Featured Replies

Issue:

With this most recent update to GTA it seems everyone has been having a lot of problems with getting everything to work properly. It took me a while, but now LSPDFR and my plugins are back to normal. Though ever since the update using the same mods and settings, my game has dropped 20 fps. I used to run at 60 to 80 fps on high at 1080p with my current system setup. Now I am getting around 40 and around a lot of times 30 & below. This problem is really annoying as I record and these framerates are not quality for content. I have changed the settings of the game to normal and checked all my files to see if Vsync is on. The FPS didn't change. Now that is just when driving. When turning the lights on in an emergency vehicle I drop about another 10 FPS. I have went through many tutorials and videos for this problem, but have still not found a solution. Some visual mods I am running is VisualV, a custom RadianceV file, better coronas, sweetFX and LA roads. I am not entirely sure if that could affect anything now, but it didn't previously. I also deleted 1/3 of the original plugins I had and also updated the ones that needed updating. It shouldn't be my card as it is less than 2 months old. The system as well is just over 6 months old. I have deleted %temp% files as well and no changes to the game. Along with installing Advanced System care and boosting the system. Please keep in mind nothing on my system is Overclocked and I prefer not to Overclock it. I'm honestly very puzzled with what it is and any suggestions would be very appreciated. I'm having to record GTA 4 now instead of 5 due to this issue. Thanks for anything and my specs are listed below.

Specs:

-Intel Core i7 6700 3.4 Ghz
-12 Gb DDR3
-2 TB HDD
-EVGA GTX 950 2gb
-EVGA 500w 80+ White Power Supply

Update:

I forgot to mention I have also reinstalled the game already as well.

  • 4 weeks later...

I posted a topic on here back in September, where as I experienced the same issue as you and I had all modded Emergency Services vehicles, quite a few plugins, and I was getting a solid 55-60FPS while on High/Very High and then after one of the updates I'm lucky if I can get 55 solid and it'll be about 38-50 depending on what's happening ingame. I've reinstalled the game at least 4 times (In the process of doing it again right now) and have even lowered the settings to Normal and I'm not even getting an increase in FPS with VSync turned off. This is also the only game thus far that I've even noticed a change or decrease for that matter in FPS so I'm very confident that's it's not my PC that's having issues.

I haven't played in at least a month so I'm hoping there might a positive change in performance but I can't say I'm very hopeful. I just got my build in December and swapped out the GPU for a better one. Also, if it gives you any comfort knowing that there's quite a few members on here that have had the same issue.

Specs:

Window 7 64-bit
Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming
HDD: 1TB Seagate
GPU: AMD Raedon R9 290 PCS+
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor @ 3.5GHz
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance
