Which file handles the police lightning (leds and all that)?

Hi,

 

I replaced the "police3" vehicle with a Chevy Caprivce. Howerver the lightbar and overall police lights are not aligned properly since this car was made for "police" vehicle.

I think if I just replace the lightning setup from "police3" with the one from "police" it should work. But I'm not sure which file handles that. Do you know it?

The carvariations file is the one you're looking for.  However, I think the carvar for police3 is hard coded into the game and can't be edited.  To correct this, put a new carvar in for police 3.  I advise putting it in MPCHRISTMAS2.  In carvar, look for "sirensetting".  Change that to "1".  The lights should be aligned now.

(Reminder: After editing the carvar, put the edited version back into OpenIV).

Just to verify, you did change the setting and add the updated carvar back into the game (mods-->update-->x64-->dlcpacks-->mpchristmas2-->dlc-->common-->data)?  I just tested this car last night and changing it to "1" aligned the lights for me.  The only other thing I can think of trying is changing light setting to "2", however, I'm under the assumption GTA's police 3 carvar (the hard coded one) already had that setting.  No way to know for sure, though.

No, for that purpose I have my "own" dlc called patchday20ng. Every modded car is inside that folder and works like a charm except the police3 Chevy. I could try to remove the carvar entry for police3 or change it to 2 to see if something changes.

Means I don't need to edit any other dlc file from Rockstar Games. I just need to edit mine and the game addresses all my files as the newest ^^

That's a good idea, actually.  I've always been so hesitant about touching dlcs or adding them.

At the moment nope.  I tried your carvar also, same issue. I tried to change sirenSetting to 2, same issue :S Could it be maybe the lightSetting?

Nope doesn't seems to be...

No, the light setting deals with your car lights, not emergency lights.  I'm really unsure, unfortunately.  The only difference between my car and yours is that mine is a standalone.  The only thing I can think of is that it could be specific to a police3 issue.  You could install it as a standalone just to test, then remove it after.

No, I tried 1 & 2. The last one I tried was 2 thats why its there.
