I tried to use my official wired xbox 360 controller with my PC earlier and it works fine, however I want to use xpadder so I can custom map the keys, so I can call in backup, arrest etc using the buttons.

I Installed xpadder and it's working fine. The only problem is that because it is a official controller GTA uses its own mapping and xpadder uses another so when I go to shoot by pressing the right trigger, xpadder makes me shoot, however Niko, takes cover, because that is the GTA setting.

Is there anyway to stop GTA from recognizing my xbox controller?

I know that, but the controls specified by GTA clash with the controls I specify using xpadder. As far as I can tell, you can't change the controls in game for the controller.

Yes you can. Just like changing the Keyboard controls just Controller, it is under the Keyboard controls tab.

you can make arrests with the Xbox360 Controller, just press "LT" and "E", it worked for me before my 360 Controller crashed on me.

@ninja, Do you fancy showing me via Teamviewer? I can't for the life of me find it.

@Slimory, I know that. But using xpadder you can make it so that pressing the X button arrests the person your aiming at. Or you can call in backup using Y.
