A couple questions about Sirens and Sound

Featured Replies

I am hoping that y'all out there could help me figure these out. Thanks everyone for the hard work.

I created a FBI3 Slot with Captain14's Amazing 2015 Tahoe. I do not have a carvations line for it and I believe that this is the reason that I am not getting any code lights or sirens.

Second, I have Installed the 2013 LSPD Ford F350 by Thehurk as a "CalFire" Slot. However unlike the FBI3 issue I am having working lights but 0 sound across the vehicle.

Lastly. How do I assign different sirens out of the American siren pack to other vehicles?

One last thing, If I am editing a vehicles.meta, what folder location should I be making these edits?

Thanks again.

Carvariations.meta includes a sirensettings value which controls how siren light parts flash on the model, so that is indeed the reason there are no lights (and I assume the siren function in general).

However, all sounds for the model are controlled by the audioNameHash line in the vehicles.meta entry. If nothing is specified, it will default to the name of the model itself, and since that is controlled somewhere else, that won't work for custom added models. What you have to do is add one of the original vehicle models as the name.

So if you want the sounds from one of the Grangers for the Tahoe, you can use FBI2, Pranger, or Sheriff2 like so: <audioNameHash>FBI2</audioNameHash>.

Thanks for the quick reply. The Tahoe does not have a carvations nor vehicles.meta file. I guess this ties in with my next question. If I wanted to edit a vehicle from patchday9 and it does not have a vehicles line of its own. Where do I go for one. I hope I am wording this right for you.

I should just point you towards this tutorial, as it covers the steps you need to do for fully functional added vehicles.
